Hi there  I'll add this to the existing "Runny Yogurt" thread so that you can see suggestions there.

please help me my yogurt is so runny i've tried putting a thread on this morning but it just got moved and nobody answered it.
i have tried twice now and both times it has been really runny. the second time i used around 100ml of live (yeo vally) yogurt which i then mixed with milk (whole uht candia) i shook it up is this correct should i shake it? can some write on exactly what makes and how much they use? i could cry right now i was really looking foward to having some nice yogurt but it's such a waste 2 litres that i can't eat!!!0 -
It looks like you did everything right - did the yogurt get warm enough for long enough? Has it started to thicken? Did you use a yogurt maker?
Lots of people add dried milk powder as a thickener but I've never found it necessary if I use full-fat milk.0 -
I use dried milk and whole milk -I like it really thick;)
There was a thread on exactly the same thing recently -I expect that is why it was moved. I'll have search for it in a mo.
Don't throw away the failed yogurt, freeze it in half pints and use for breadmaking, scones or soda bread.0 -
it has started to thicken but is still really runny, certainly not yogurt texture. can i save the batch thats in there now? how long should i leave it? what brand of milk and yogurt do you use?0

I use an electric yogurt maker, but I think the Easy yo method is the same.
For 1 litre of yogurt I use half a small pot of Yeo Valley live yogurt or 2 big tbsp of my own yogurt, a litre carton of Tesco whole UHT (semi-skimmed is good too, I wouldn't bother with skimmed) and half a cup of Tesco Value dried milk. I leave it yogging for 8-10 hours.0 -
Haven't made yogurt for a while but I reckon about eight hours but I've left it longer. I'd be inclined to give it longer and then put it in the fridge for a day as it tends to thicken. If it's thick enough to strain, you could do that (pour into a teatowel-lined colander) but if it's really runny, you won't end up with much yogurt.
