dodgy vodafone?
Hi I am with vodafone through mobiles 2 your door chequeback deal. the plan is 500 mins and 500 texts for £40 a month.
We are going on a cruise next week and I have rung up to have passport added and the surly person on the end of the phone says
either I have to change my price plan or that I have to add six months to the contract to have passport.
on the website it says passport is free to activate and says nothing about having to change anything at all.
Now I believe they are just misleading me to get more money
am I right?

Yeah sounds a bit weird to me, from Voda's website:
"Vodafone Passport is available to customers on: Perfect Fit price plans (available since May 1st 2005), Smartstep, Smartplus, Anytime, Anynet, 3G price plans, Small Business, Businesstime, Businesstime Plus, Sharetime, Company Caller, Commercial Caller, Commercial Caller Plus and Business Caller Perfect Fit for Business price plans."
Check your bill to see what tariff name you are on - if it's one of the above then I'd call back and speak to someone else!Wondering how to have a life & not rack up more debts...0 -
How long is left on your contract?
There was some European legislation passed last year limiting how much you can be charged for calls whilst roaming, think it was about 30-odd p/min. Might be worth enquiring about that as well......0 -
why not ring 191 for vodafone customer services?
apoligies but problems like this generate from not going direct with the network for deals.0 -

Hi neiljc
Vodafone Passport is indeed free to activate if you're on one of the following types of price plan:
Perfect Fit price plans (available since May 1st 2005), Smartstep, Smartplus, Anytime, Anynet, 3G price plans, Small Business, Businesstime, Businesstime Plus, Sharetime, Company Caller, Commercial Caller, Commercial Caller Plus and Business Caller Perfect Fit for Business price plans.
If you'd like to see the Vodafone Passport terms and conditions, please select the link.
If you're not on one of the price plans above, you'll need to update your price plan in order to add Vodafone Passport. If you'd like me to look at this for you, please contact me using our contact form. Please include the code FIT135 in the body of your email to ensure it reaches our eForum Team.
One thing to note is that if you have a cashback deal with your original dealer, it may be affected by changing your plan. It's always best to check with your phone dealer before making any changes to your price plan.
