Been selling the Samsung d880 in my shop for a few months now, probably two dozen handsets in total, none of the issues/complaints/etc in the gsmarena listing have arisen from usage with UK, Italian, Greek, Bulgarian or Cypriot sims ... must be something odd about the Optus ones
Used my MB profits to trade London for Cyprus ...

    Hi Anon,
I dont know whether I'm missing the point here, so correct me if I get this wrong. In my view, the practicality of this problem getting solved is very bleak even if you use a dual sim adapter, i.e, when you consider receiving a call as the primary function of any phone.

Since no two sim cards will work at the same time from a single phone , you have to perform a manual switch to register and receive calls from the other sim.
I would rather take pains and carry two phones with me not to miss that important call from my boss while chitchatting with my g/f on the other phone on a Fri afternoon.
The other practical option is to "divert" to your personal number with call waiting option turned on, but things like SMS will not work.

Yes, sometimes you see, all these advanced technologies cannot find commonsensical solutions to our most simple problems. :-) Cheerio.

Thank you for all the responses - work are paying for the HTC Kaiser and have it on contract, including a data package (though Vodafone have not caught up on the data pack on business contracts at £7.50 for 10MB). I have hundreds of minutes and texts on my own phone so don't really have an issue using it for calls, therefore can easily switch when I want to use the paid for data connection rather than on my own bill (which I cannot claim back) - and no one knows the second telephone number so far!

    Many thanks

This is what the cutter looks like... Seriously this is it a converted clamp, but I have been told it does the job. Clean cut so it will fit.

  • you don't need that cutter.I used the scissor to cut,it's easy.
I have tried different dual sim adapter when I use my old gsm mobile phone,it's ok.there is another type you don't need to cut the sim, called non-cutting.
currently I'm using iphone, there is also dual sim adapter for iphone too. I don't recommend any seller, but you can try to buy from babiwa.com,I bought several adapter from there myself, maybe you could have a look.
