Spam on Three
I am coming to the end of my Three contract and I keep getting phonecalls from different companies wanting to give me a better deal. They know I am on Three, but I have never given this info to anyone and I have opted out of marketing calls/messages. How did they get my number and is it legal?
I also have had 2 text messages from '3G ops' - no number - asking me to call an 0870 number about my account (number is 08700 730 730 I think). I have checked with Three via 333 and they have not sent any messages. Anyone got any ideas if these are just spam or should I actually call. I've done a Google search and nothing comes up.
Any assistance would be appreciated.

They are not spam. They are like dialaphone and e2save, but very low level. Better ignore them.
You may get a better cashback deal from them, but I would think they are not trust worthy compared to dialaphone, e2save.
I used to get calls to my Landline number, just the time my contract was ending. I have no idea how they got my number.0 -
I got these calls as well. One kept calling my other mobile number (very old PAYG) until I told them where to put there deal- I don't know how they got hold of that number.
My friend who works for 3 has said that these unknown companies just steal the phone numbers from 3 and are probably going to go bust within the year, so its best to avoid them as you won't get your cashback.
If you want to get a new deal/upgrade then phone 333 or visit a shop.0
