RUN DLL message

Hiya guys,

There is something up with my brothers laptop that he has loaned me. Basically yesterday I couldn't even get the internet working, and the virus protector on there (which is outdated and old) said there was a virus, I think it sorted it out. But then today when I switched the laptop on it is VERY SLOW...but my main issue is that a message came up it said:

'RUN DLL, error loading C:\Documents and Settings\Pupil|Application Data\Help\system32\loadpekf.dll'

So I dunno what is up, also to make things more complicated you can not download anything as it has been restricted by the administrator, so I can not even put some decent virus protector on there, and it cant play flash as it is outdated and cant be downloaded...unfortunately the admin forgot the password and so I am in a dilemma..

My first issue is what do I do about the error msg and secondly can the administrator be overriden?
I feel really bad as this my 14 year old brothers laptop and I dont wanna wreck it

I reckon that you have some malware installed. I would try to get rid of it by using this FREEWARE. http://www.comodo.com/boclean/boclean.html

sounds like you'll have to go the round about way of getting software on to your laptop...

Do you have another computer you can use and a USB stick?

If you do have another computer...

Try this program
"Spybot: Search and Destroy"
http://www.safer-networking.org/en/index.html

it's small, only 9Mb and will find any problems / spyware /mallware/ adware on your system.

also download this
McAfee "Stinger" antivirus (it's the ONLY McAfee product i like)

http://vil.nai.com/VIL/stinger/
This is about 1.4Mb in size and will check for most Virii on your system.

Copy these both on to the USB stick and copy them to the laptop and run them both....

If you want to find the password try http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ you boot it up on a cd at the start and it should find the password. Download it on another computer. cd burning software here if you don't have some already http://www.filehippo.com/download_cdburnerxp/

Sure fire go to http://ophcrack.sourceforge.net/ then press "Download" at the top. Press the green arrow next to Ophcrack xp live cd if you have xp and ophcrack vista live cd if you have vista it does not work for any windows operating systems below xp. After pressing download it will redirect you to sourceforge and the download box will appear press save and save it somewhere you can find it again.
It will take awhile to download as its a big file.

After doing this you will have a iso file to burn this file you need to download and install http://www.filehippo.com/download_cdburnerxp/ after installing it open it up.
Then press "create data cd/dvd. then go to file > Burn disk from iso file. Press the three little dots ... next to the cd picture with a flame next to it. Then find your iso file you downloaded and open it. After doing that press burn cd and wait.

The problem is that QT2006 CAN'T download anything...
QT2006 will need access to another computer to do this...

reboot the machine and press the "f8" and "f10" keys during the startup when you see the white line that goes across your screen to bring up a boot menu. Select "Safe Mode with Networking" and see if that gives you the ability to Download files... you may have to reboot a few times to catch the white line that goes across your screen when you Start the machine..
