The DHL guy that comes to my house it top notch :j

Seems strange they would go to all the effort of going to your front door and not collecting the parcel why would he waste his time doing this

The DHL guy(s) in that serves the town where I used to live was great as well. Calls, waits, and calling to check if I am ok with him leaving the packages (normally Currys/ ebay purchases) at my neighbours. I did write to DHL singing my praises for him.

I don’t understand why drivers don’t deliver/collect, when they did in fact go to the collection/delivery location. Last time round, the driver didn’t deliver a package of 3 refurb DAB radios, (the delivery address was a university office, delivery date was a Tuesday during term-time). Didn’t leave a note whatsoever, but the parcel tracked as failed delivery. Called their 0870 number, and was told that the driver cannot deliver because nobody was available to sign for the parcel:confused: ……..there are at least 15 people in that office everyday during term time…………………..so :confused:

No the OP conjected to suit their view which is different

Why would the delivery company actually go to the house but not collect the parcel? theres no reason for it, if they hadnt put a card through fair enough i would believe they were lying but it seems to me the OP simply didnt hear the door i know you cant read, so this probably wouldnt make a difference anyway...but i'll point out again that there were other people in the house at that time,...

As for the phone call, why do they have a wrong number?

It seems to me the OP ballsed up and is now slandering the driver to try and blackmail them into meeting their agenda

It doesn’t matter that it seems to you, as opinions are normally formed based on experience, common sense, knowledge and/or understanding. You don’t appear to possess any of these characteristics, so who cares about what it seems to you.

in addition, after reading thru a few of your posts, I am convinced that you are a troll and most of your posts doesn’t actually add any value to the discussions. They are mostly formed based on your limited understanding of the issue at hand.

Why on earth would any courier go to your door and not knock or ring the bell???

He has stood there, wind or rain, waiting for you to answer and then took the time to write a card out, yes he put the wrong time (does that even matter? putting the correct time matters not, you didn't answer...to him you were not there)

You make it sound like the courier likes to card everyone instead of delivering/collecting, and if you know anything about delivery companies, if he didn't get an answer that day, he'd have to waste more time & petrol the next day....

Face up to it, you simply didn't hear him!? Not his fault, not your fault, it happens!

I missed a delivery the other day, I was going to be in all day except to pick up my son from school, so i was out from 2:50 - 3:10, guess when the courier came?

The fact is that the driver has GRPS in his vehicle. As numerous people have suggested, there is absolutely no point going to your door and not collecting. Why would he want to create further work for him on another day?

Last DHL collection I had was spot on.

Maybe because I had it picked up from work and therefore the collection was actually for XYZ Limited? I assume they'll take corporate customers a bit more seriously.

    So in summary:
This poor driver attempted pickup of a package on the correct day and within the agreed time slot. For his/her troubles...
    - he/she is called a cheeky bugg*r
    - he/she is called a lying bugg*r
The DHL office arranged for a recollection, at their cost, and this was done the same day in accordance with the customer's demands.

  • just to add my tuppence to this thread!! most poorly paid dhl drivers will work their b***s off to collect and deliver parcels, do you realise most of them get paid PER collection/delivery as a top up on their wages? my old courier was paid 50p per parcel on top of basic wage so it's in their best interest to do as much as possible...
    ok back to squabbling...

Delivery companies but not all are like that, they will put a card through the door saying tehy called but no one in when there was, why would the OP come on here and slander the driver to try and balckmail them,

I will back the OP up here as I have seen city link doing the same. I have been sat in my front room before, waiting for a delivery (this was a very heavy object) and have seen the city link guy walk up the drive (no package in hand) and put a card through the letter box saying 'Sorry I missed you'.

On opening the door and asking what he was doing he said 'It didnt look like you were in!'. Sorry but does a car in the driveway and a few open windows downstairs and the dogs in the back garden (sat by front gate next to front door) not give away that I am actually in? And had he not thought to ring the bell? He then got in a huffy when I asked him to get my parcel and put it in the porch (there was no way I could lift it), as he expected me to carry it from the van?!

Then theres the time I was keeping an eye out for a parcel for a neighbour (she was out and asked if I could take it it as shed put a note saying leave with neighbour). I saw the city link van pull up, stop. Then drive off. Apparently a card was left but my neighbour never found it and its amazing how they can get a card in the door without leaving the van? Surprisingly it was chucking it down!

So yes I have known them to put a card in without actually trying if the person is in..
