Parking in Birmingham for Girls Alound at NIA on Friday 23rd

:j Good morning, wondering if anyone can give me advice for where to park in Birmingham to see Girls Aloud on Friday 23rd of May. I'm taking my 2 girls ages 5 & 7 and my sister.

Yes, it's a Bank Holiday weekend which we hadn't realised when ticket were bought a few months ago!

We have never drove to Birmingham, so unsure if it's wise to park at NIA or park a bit out and get a bus in. We had planned to stay the night, but my sister is working Saturday morning and we live on the coast in North Wales, I also looked into getting a train but they don't get us back until after midnight!

Any advice would much be appreciated.

They have parking there for £8 and give a free shuttle bus to the arena. I went a couple of months ago and it was hassle free to be honest. hope that helps
  • That sounds great!
Where is this parking? any address or directions pretty please.

    Very much appreciated!

we were there last saturday to see celine dion, follow signs into birmingham for the NIA and the car park is right next door to it.We paid £6 (have the correct money ready for the machine) for 6 hours. We arrived at 6.45pm and the car park was nearly full so please get there as early as you can.
there are lots of bars and restaurants along by the canal which you cant miss, so plan a meal and enjoy it.

When going into Birmingham in the evening we usually park at a meter - they're free after six. There are a lot in the area of the Museum and Art Gallery and from there the NIA is just a five minute walk away.

There is lots of parking in the NIA itself, also a multi storey in Brindley Place - it can be easier to get out of Brindley Place than the NIA itself at the end of the concert.

    Hello

I live down the road from the NIA, as mentioned parking is free in Council parking bays after 6 although be warned that the bays around the NIA can fill up quite quickly.

Also someone mentioned a shuttlebus...i think they're confusing the NIA with the NEC Arena (which is part of the NEC complex near Bham Airport)

There is a Euro Carpark on Edward St, about 2mins walk from the NIA on Edward Street (near junction with Helena St if u look on a map). The maximum you'll pay there is £4 for up to 24hrs.

    enjoy the concert
  • Appreciate all your replies. My sister has a blue badge and I didn't realise that it is free to park in NIA with the blue badge on display.

My girls are so excited and can't wait to see Girls Alound!

When we parked in the adjacent multi-story for a concert at the NIA, the exiting traffic completely snarled up with drivers going the wrong way. It was so bad we parked up and went and had a meal!
