Changing sim cards????

Stupid question I am sure, however, once more technology is leaving me behind.

I have just taken advantage of the 6630 with free 600 talk and text on 3 for the bargain price of £00.00 over the next 12 months.

BUT, I would like to know, as there is no way of unlocking that Nokia, is it possible to place the "3" sim card into a non 3 phone.

I have an old but trustworthy companion of a 6510 which is all I need and would love to keep it for everyday usage, but it has been suggested to me that the 3 sims only work in 3 phones.

Is this the case?

If so what other 3 phones are out there, I may turn to the e-bay to try to get an older phone as I have no need of MP3, VIDEO, PHOTO capability etc.

There is something terribly satisfying about a phone which does exactly what it says on the tin. i.e it phones, no more.

Thanks in advance for the help.

    Hi there,

A 3 SIM card only works in a 3G phone (as far as I'm aware) so you need to get a different 3G phone for your SIM to work.

The phone you have (6630) does not need to be unlocked since you won’t be using it, you could just take the 3 SIM card out and forget about 6630.

The 6510 you have will not be able to take the 3 SIM card since it isn’t a 3G phone.

I could point you in the direction of a basic 3G phone, and when I say basic I mean two cameras etc, as the 3G phones are designed to be the next generation, with all the features you’d expect from a phone from the future. This phone would be the Motorola C975.

    Hope I’ve helped.

Something missing? Somethinig missing here as well... why don't you use the 3 sim on the new 3 phone you got with it?
And if you really want to know if the 3 sim works in your old phone why don't you just plug it in and try it?
