I am thinking of migrating to F2s. as the reviews on Adslguide.org are really good for this company Could anyone give me an indication of what 2GB would give me.
For my part, I mainly surf the net, couple of hours a night, check emails once or twice a day, send the occasional email, don't download music, no gaming, and have looked at our holiday photos once or twicethis year. I am currently with onetel on an uncapped deal and don't want to go onto a capped deal if its not enough. Thanks

You will struggle to hit 1Gb. Seriously, you might hit 1Gb but you won't get near 2Gb. I am with f2s and they are really really good! I will pm you my ID and if you use it I get a tenner credit ;o) Also, if you do download in the future, you have unlimited usage between 1 and 6 am. I really do exploit this heavily!0

Thanks for your e-mail.
This is now an uncapped service but used to be capped at 100GB (until
about a month ago). Uswitch have not updated this yet and we will
contacting them to amend it.
Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
Best regards,
Andy

yeah go for it a couple of things to remember though
their help desk staff - whilst being very knowledgeable and efficient and based in the UK and not reading it all from a book! only work week days 9-5 with a couple of days till 8. so if you get stuck at the weekend then you're on your own!
I upgraded from 2mb to 8mb (if your exchange is enabled then you can do this from the start for the same money) but you are coming off a BT connection at the exchange so not sure how easy its going to be to change later on if I want to.
I had problems with my upgrade to 8mb, but not really F2S problem but they could have been better keeping me informed.
overall though I think they are a really good company with a strong product, probably not the cheapest but on balance good value I think

If you find you use more than 2Gb a month and remember it is total traffic ie includes uploads (except at night) then for £5 you can regrade to one of the larger packs
I don't think you'll hit 2Gb - its videos and gaming that really hammer it then music downloads.
The only other way is to monitor your usuage - I used DUmeter - F2S will of course monitor it for you
But I agree with the comments above good Cust service but hours could be better. Remeber you will only get 2Mb if you aren't too far from the exchange - the 8Mb rollout has caused some problems so I'd stick with 2Mb if I were youTANSTAAFL !0 -
Didn't you register what fidslove said? , it is uncapped now , I think the system that capping the service is too costly for small high quality operators like f2s.
I would still exploit the non busy times of 1-6 but just as a courtesy to other users.Five exclamation marks the sure sign of an insane mind!!!!!

I don't know if fidslove is talking about the same package. I have the 2mb uncapped which until recently was capped at 100GB - one month I tried to see if I could get over 100Gb and failed miserably - 63GB and that was downloading constantly!
But they also do cheaper packages that are capped at 2GB (mine costs £25 per month, whereas the capped start at £15 I think but am not sure). With your useage, its unlikely you'll hit 2GB especially as the 1-6am is unmetered if there is something big you want. Monitoring it as you go along as suggested, is a good idea though as F2S's own monitoring only updates at 9.30am each morning. I think they are a great service provider in my experience. In 2 years, the service as gone down twice so the weekend closing hours hasn't bothered me too much.0 -
Hi All
I'm currently with pipex 2mb and have been warned.
"The reason why we are contacting you is that our network analysis shows that your current usage requires traffic management during our busiest periods, which as a guide run from 6pm to midnight seven days a week. This means you are currently a candidate for traffic management."
And am seriously thinking about migrating to F2S. Reading this thread has seriously persuaded me - so thanks guys.
Oh - anyone ever go over the 100gb (ex)limit?0 -
Right - have done it and must say - am really impressed with what i've seen so far.
The application process was smooth and then logged onto the Members bit and all my details were there.
Then i even created an email address, used webmail and sent an email. And guess what - it got sent.
All the above in only 10 minutes.0 -
I have been with f2s now for over 3 years. I don't think i've had any downtime at all. Perhaps I have been lucky and don't appreciate how reliable they really are. But they have always been easy to get hold of, and I have been VERY happy with them. They score very highly on customer ratings on https://www.adslguide.org.uk.
I would recommend to all my friends!0
