Feedback needed on JDS

I use talk Talk and have another year of free evening and weekend calls .I wondered if JDS would be a good alternative should I need one .I emailed JDS to find out there rate from Northern Ireland to Southern Ireland 30 miles from me . These call charges are not widely advertised by any cps .Example BT charge 5.5p per call ,Talk Talk charge 5p per call (included in my free calls at present ) onetel charge 4p PER MINUTE .So I want to avoid another onetel .I got an automated responce from JDS to say I would receive a reply within 2 days .That was a week ago ,and still waiting .
Ah well ,I still have 11 months to find another CPS should I need one .0 -

Cheers

Initial response is good. Directing daytime and mobile calls through 1899 and the rest through JDS seems to be OK. Orchid dialler doing the job nicely.0 -
Bear in mind that JDS is up for sale together with the rest of Onetel Telecom Business,s. It will be interesting to see what the new owner does with it!!!.PF.0

I used to be with JDS awhile back and don’t recall having any problems with my account.
I changed to One.Tel and after a tip off from Edinburgh Lass to Talk Talk.
My Talk Talk 1 + 12 tariff [free evening/weekend calls] free for 12 months comes to an end on Sunday 25th September. I contacted Talk Talk today and negotiated a 6 month extension having explained that JDS were now offering a better deal.
As the JDS deal appears not to be time limited I really wanted Talk Talk to commit to a
12 month extension but it wasn’t to be. Therefore I’ve applied on-line to switch to JDS.
18866 and 1899 were not around when I was originally with JDS but I don’t anticipate any problems. If calls prefixed with 18866 or 1899 are barred by JDS, I would use 1280 to
re-route my calls through BT and dial 18866 or 1899 as usual. If by using 18866/1899
I break JDS T&C’s [I haven’t read anything yet that suggests that I would] I will simply move my account to another CPS.
I too have sent JDS an email and do recall in the past having to chase them for a reply. Eventually replies were forthcoming.

As JDS saver is in process of being sold off the with the rest of Onetel i wouldnt hold your breath that the offer will continue.PF.0

That's true. It may also explain why the lack of response to queries, etc. Lack of possible staff motivation with not knowing if they are going to lose their jobs or not!?pricefighter wrote:As JDS saver is in process of being sold off the with the rest of Onetel i wouldnt hold your breath that the offer will continue.0 -
I agree.
I’ve gambled Talk Talk’s 6 month extension of my free evening and weekend calls, free tariff [usually £4.99 per month] + 24/7 free calls to other Talk Talk customers for the JDS free evening and weekend calls deal which at the moment has no monthly charge or time limit.
I’m hoping to get 6 months+ out of JDS. If I don’t, well I loose out but that’s a gamble I’m willing to take.
As for 24/7 free calls to other Talk Talk customers, I only had 2 such numbers, and will use 18866 at peak times to contact them if necessary.
The upside is, should Talk Talk launch a similar promotion in future, as a “New Customer"
I will qualify for it.

I have been using JDS with 18866.com for probably over a year now with no problems until recently when I noticed the free evening and weekend calls with JDS. This wasn't available for no monthly fee when I joined up.
I made a call in the evening with JDS and the call has shown up on my call records and there is a charge associated with it. I have contacted them 3 times over the last 2 weeks and have had no response so far. In my last email to JDS I stated that I may switch CPS provider if I do not hear anything within 1 month of my initial enquiry.
I've read in this thread that they are being bought out and so that might be the reason for the lack of response.
At the moment I cannot therefore recommend JDS. However to answer to original question. You can use 18866.com with JDS.
