by the way incase anyone posts the obvious question as to why the heck Drek's still with Swiftnet....
the answer is when i called one of their offices [08006191999] they gave me completely diff - miles better - ratres than on the website!!
Dunno if its a re-seller but i got a very good deal to the int destinations we call and good service too.0 -
Before I signed up to MSE I was using these guys along with First Telecom and had no problems.
http://www.primustel.co.uk/products-voice.html
Granted, it was indirect access, not CPS, using a number prefix to access the network but never had any problems etc and the guy I spoke with was always on the ball.“Ordinary riches can be stolen, real riches cannot. In your soul are infinitely precious things that cannot be taken from you.” - Oscar Wilde0 -

Anyway, it also appears to be the same firm as http://www.planet-talk.co.uk/saverproducts.aspx?source=saver (well, the logo is the same) and is one of the 2 which Martin mention in his opening post - so appears to be one he may be recommending.Their - possessive pronoun (owned by them e.g. "They locked their car").
They're - colloquial/abbreviated version of 'They are'
There - noun (location other than here e.g. "You can buy groceries there") OR adverb (in or at that place e.g. "They have lived there for years") OR adverb (to or towards that place e.g. "Go there at noon") OR adverb (in that matter e.g. " I agree with you there").0 -
MSE_Martin wrote:Hi folks,
Im researching a new home phones article.
The basic idea is
JDS/Primus saver which have no monthly fee but free eve/weekend calls as CPS
with 1899/18185 for other calls on top
Officially JDS says you can't use an override. Yet unofficially it's admitted you can and it won't be stopping people.
However i want to double check, is anyone doing this and is it working for you.
If you can let me know here that'd be great
However if there's any change over the next two weeks please urgently email archna at moneysavingexpert dot com (not written direct so spam softwares don't grab it)
thanks folks
martin
I have changed from One Tel CPS to JDS. It takes effect on Monday 19th September. I will be using 1899 and 18866 as I am now with One Tel with the exception of evening and weekend calls. I will post here once I have had a week of the service to let you know how it is going.
Cheers

Martin,
I don't see anything in their T&C's which says that you can't use an override, and I looked quite carefully.
Incidentally, I noticed that their website does not say how much they charge for 0845 calls, or how much they charge per minute once the two hour period for free local calls expires. I sent them an email on Monday, and received an automated response saying that they would respond within two working days. Today is Friday and i haven't had an answer yet.

I've been using JDS for a couple of months now - and a number of other operators like 1899 18866 etc for other calls (Orchid dialer eh?) My setup is:
I have had no problems at all - except Phonebird / Dialwise have to go back to 1280 before.
Hope that helpsLife should be a little nuts; otherwise it's just a bunch of Thursdays strung together.0 -

thanks for the reassurance as I am waiting for my account with JDS to be activated. From above I noted that you put 2p per call through 18866 and hope that you are aware that it is actually 3p now. Cheers. :beer:Do I want it? ......Do I need it? ......What would happen if I don't buy it??????0 -

Well, I have now, sort of ...
Notwithstanding the automated response saying that my message, submitted via the JDS website, had been received, I got the following bounce message (edited to remove personal details) from JDS today. It doesn't really inspire confidence. Does anyone know of any other way to contact them?
