cashback-downgrading the contract after cashback recieved

iv had a cashback contract for the last 10 months now, and have recieved my full cashback 1 month ago.
Now, i was wondering whether or not its possible to downgrade my contract to the cheapest contract thats possible to get for myself, so that i dont have to keep on spending the £40 a month that it is.

and if i do downgrade my contract, the deal after the cashback would work out cheaper aswell.

would i be able to do this?

thanks in advance,
Skiddy

  • Depends on who you bought phone from...try searching this forum for info on the company and to see what other people have done. If that fails ring the company and ask them!
Also check how long you've left on your contract...if it was for 12 months then you've only got another month or so left anyway so is there much point..... you're probably better off looking for a new deal - you could always keep using your existing phone and flog the new phone.

  • the dealer is paid their commission after 6 months (for most 12 month contracts), so if you have already got your full cashback then it should be safe to downgrade without fear

Just an example. OneStopPhoneShop permit douwngrading after 6 months for 12-months contracts and after 11 month for 18-months contracts. This is before cashback is paid in full.
