New Line Installation - Not BT

Hi all,

Can anyone offer any advice on which service to use?

I've been with Sky on TV, Broadband and Phone for just 2 months and we're due to move house in 4 weeks, Sky have told me theres no compatible telephone line at the new address for them to provide the broadband etc...

I've contacted BT who have told me I would have to pay £125.00 to install a new BT line, does anyone know if theres another company I could use to install a line and who would be compatible with Sky and alot cheaper?

Sky will charge me for the services anyway for the next 10 months (£26.00 per month) as im under a 12month contract.

The house im moving to is a private letting and the landlord is not willing to pay the installation charge as virgin media is currently used - im in a no win situation as ive given him the deposit

Please help!!!

BT have an offer of installation for £29.99 if you stay 18 months.

If they give you the offer its worth noting

Customers must make at least 30 chargeable or inclusive calls via BT every three month period or 10 chargeable calls or inclusivecalls per month if you are billed monthly.

Hi all,

A quick update for you...

The deal worked for me, this is how I explained my situation

1. Called BT 0808 1002425
2. Told them i was moving into a new address that only had virgin media services
3. Mentioned my landlord was not prepared to pay the cost of the installation
4. Told him I was wanted to use BT services
5. Said I had called yesterday and spoke to a lady who mentioned the £24.99 deal on an 18 month contract
and
5. Hey Presso the man I spoke to told me the terms and conditions and opened a new account for me and I even have my new number

Final outcome - Saved £100.00 today!!!!!!!

Good luck all and be persistant the offer does exist but only if you are a Cable customer

No it's not.

There are plenty of reports of non cable customers getting this offer.

Thats good either way it just seemed that once i said it only had virgin at the house he was more interested to help me get BT set up

Thats ok - it seems you sometimes need to be firm (and let them know you know all about the deal) to get the operator to give you the offer.
