If you have the number that the messages were from. Call up your Pay as you go Customer services number and tell them you have been receving premium texts service that you did not order and give them the number the text came from. They should be able to link it to a company and give you their customer services number..

I had this happen to my contract mobile a few years ago. a few calls and a month later i got a cheque from the advertiser company for £10 the cost of the messages they sent me!

Thank you all for your help, I will follow the suggestions and will contact O2 and try and find out the name of the perpetrator and will post it up here if I find out.

Personally I wouldn't reply just yet. Best bet is to contact your operator and ask them what has been deducting from your credit. They should be able to tell you the originator, and if you look up the company on the web, or post it back here, then hopefully it'll help to get detials as to how to stop them.

To stop them, you reply with 'STOP'. It doesn't matter what company it is.

If they aren't 100% legit, then that isn't always the case. No harm in calling the provider in any case like this.

    Hello,

My colleague has a similar problem. She gets frequent texts that begin 'TRUE OR FALSE?' and they're eating up her credit.

She finally rang the customer services number to stop them the other day - it said allow 24 hours for them to stop. They're STILL coming.

Will O2 be able to do anything to block them? I suggested the TPS (although I don't think it will help much, it can't hurt) and I've told her the last resort would be to get a new sim card... but she's in the middle of a house purchase and doesn't want to change numbers.
    My TV is broken!
Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

The number the adverts are coming from should be attached to the text. Once you have it check it here

Once you know who it is you can take action.
I had the same problem, soon put a stop to it using the above and got a full refund
