fix a motorola v3

I have a v3 phone brand new sent to me but is faulty. car phone hav'nt asked for it back but sent me a knew one. dose anyone know where I can get this phone fixed so my husband can use it. seems a shame to have a brand new phone in the cupboard and not be able to use it.

what is the problem with it?
if they havent barred it then try crc should be done under warrenty

when you phone someone, as soon as they pick up the phone it crackles then the phone switches itself off.

not heard of that before but maybe needs a s/w upgrade or could be shorting out?

can't imagine it needs an upgrade as it was a brand new phone.

the s/w upgrades are released by motorola to fix any problems they find in the earlier versions (and there are a lot of bugs in motorolas) also sometimes s/w can get corrupted.
get it to the service center and let them sort it for free

Yes when I can get a V3 for a reasonable amount contract or payg, the first thing I will do is flash a different software. You can even get it to record video ;-)

I'll post more info tommorrow, busy trying to revise :-(

what does flash a different software mean?

flashing the s/w (or changing it for a generic one) can be done to fix any bugs found in older s/w- but it is also possible to flash it with an unbranded s/w. the reason is some like voda or orange may have certain features disabled in their s/w or you may want to remove the branding logos.
you could think of it like changing from windows ME on your pc to windows xp.
a service center will only flash it with the same brand though, so if you want an unbranded flash you would have to pay for it.

Now as promised I have sat y exam, and can now do better things with my life!

I can now give you the links to find out where and how you can flash (reprogram) your V3, and other motorola's. Now I haven't done it yet, but will do once I get my phone. If anything goes wrong don't blame me it's at your own risk. However the links contain forums full of freindly helpful bods, just like this one :j .
