went into phones4u today and asked if i could have a phone upgrade on my vodafone contract, i have a very old contract and pay £15 a month so i wasn't expecting a decent upgrade he asked what i wanted i said the new samsung soul or a new sony ericsson he brought out a sony ericsson w880 and the samsung U900 soul i said i liked the samsung and asked how much it would cost he said nothing, the whole process took about 30 minutes to do but if i had gone direct to vodafone i would have probably paid in excess of £100 for the upgrade due to my cheap contract, i hope this helps somebody

Oh I like that Samsung (I'm a die hard Nokia fan to be honest..)
    What's the Soul like?

That's going to be top of the list for my next upgrade...

    It's 50/50

Mine arrived today. Some of the features are brilliant, BUT the speaker volume during a call is pitiful. The ringtone volume isn't great either.

I'm seriously thinking about rejecting it. What's the point of a phone if you can't hear the person you're talking to?

I am impressed as well, the only way I found to get the ringer louder was to download a tune from the Samsung site, it cost £3 but problem solved........

I got an LG Viewty a little while ago and I'm really disappointed that the Soul came out after as I think its a lovely phone and I'm a huge Samsung fan.

Solitaire - I used to be a Nokia fan but when I changed to Samsung I was just as happy so go for it if you get the chance.:T

What is the battery life like? I am looking at the Nokia 6300 but all the reviews say that the battery life is very short and that is off putting so am considering others.
  • I have a Nokia 6300 from my work and though it doesn't get mega use I can normally go about 4-5 days with it on permanently before it needs charging... Pretty good for nowadays when compared to my personal Nokia N95 that needs charging at least every 48hours...
