Life After Debts

So, what’s the first thing you will do when you are debt free? (I'm not talking about all the sensible stuff, like set up your savings account, creating a nest egg etc)
Aghhhh the days when I am financially free, now I have learnt the hard way about budgeting and planning. I have decided that I’m going to save up and go away.
I’m going far away on a body holiday all by myself. It’s an all inclusive trip in St Lucia at a spa resort. You have a daily treatment and can yoga each morning; it’s amazing you also have a personal trainer so you come back tanned and looking hot to trot. It will be my treat for working so hard to pay of this debt. I'm going to go on my birthday.
I'm going to spend some time planning it down to the very last detail so that when I feel fed up or bored or low about the debts I can open my ‘Body Holiday’ folder and look inside and get excited about it. Even now as I’m typing images of it are floating around my head….
So what about you? Move house? Change your car? .......

I got myself into debt when I was a student and then went travelling for 18 months (a long time ago now and I've obviously not learnt my lesson - have now though as it's worse this time round and i have more to lose) When I clear my debts this time round, in less than 5 years if I have my way as my mortgage is due to be paid off in 5 years, I will probably go travelling again. I'm single now after a long term relationship and still have my health so I will visit my family in Europe, Africa and the US and generally just try and make up for not having a life whilst trying to pay my debts!Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free
Mortgage free since 20140 -
I want a really good holiday. Possibly a month in the US visiting a couple of different places and knowing it is paid for up front and not on the tick.
So when my debt is cleared, so much a month goes into the pot for this.0 -
I have spent all my adult life in debt, and now I am about to be (unsecured) debt free, and i'm scared! Yes, I find myself looking at cars, but hey they only get me from A to B same as my old banger:rotfl: So I plan to tuck my money away where I cant get at it easily, maybe use Zopa and lend my spare money to others who still need debt[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j
Target: Stay debt free0 -
I'm not in debt but I've been reading this board compulsivity while I've been saving for a house deposit; picking up all of the hint and tips and enjoying reading about everyone's journeys. I've spent nearly a year now watching every penny I spend to the point of miserliness and I'm not sure that I'll be able to spend with abandon ever again or even to look at a possession I already have for too long without thinking that I don't really need it and should pop it on Ebay.0

I am going to start a new career doing what I love rather than what pays well!0
