Not all of them do this. Some of them just include the cost of the boxes in with the removal price. That way they don't have to bother coming back for them.0 -

This thread has a bad experience with that company though...0 -
We bought our boxes from Help I Need Boxes. They offer a modular system that means that three small boxes fit next to two medium boxes or one large box and so fit sensibly in a removal van. Both our recent removal firms (Herefordshire to a rented flat in Leamington then on to our new flat in Leamington) took down the details becauses the boxes are so sturdy. The last removal firm said they were stronger than those they bought for customers!
We've had two orders from them and each time it's been delivered on time and been exactly correct. We stored a single mattress in our garage in one of their mattress storage bags with silica gel pouches inside and six months later it was still bone dry when we sold the bed on eBay.0 -
Thanks to everyone for your contribution. I think that the 'i need boxes' one looks like a winner.
Thanks again to you all. You have been very helpful and it is much appreciated.0 -
I'm a bit late in coming onto this but when I moved I got some fry boxes from my local McDonalds. They are not massive boxes but they are suitable for a lot of things. Since like most places they are flattened all that is needed is some decent tape to put them back together.Dream as if you'll live forever - live as if you'll die today0

I wouldn't use one of the companies who sell them as sets as they tend to be very expensive. If the boxes from supermarkets are too flimsy, then try an electrical retailer as they tend to be stronger. Or you can look in the yellow pages for manufacturers who will usually be cheap as long as you want the sizes that they are making at the time.0

i work at a university in the biomedical science - we get a LOT of very strong boxes plus polystyrene boxes etc... If you ask the porters or front of house they'll give you some for sure.
Anyone in sheffield - I would recommend the university - Firth Court porter's lodge0 -
Sorry might be a bit late with this advice.........
If anyone has an IT department at work, I'm sure they would be glad to get rid of the boxes PCs and monitors etc come in.0
