O2 Contract Ended - Got a New Phone !
My contract ran out today, so I rang them up to cancel the contract, my plan was to get the Erickson K700i for free.
Okay I just told her straight that I want to cancel and not wanting the PAC code.
She asked if my O100 monthly is okay, I said yes
Then why cancel ?
I want an K700i but at the Nokia shops you have to pay to pay about £70 to upgrade.
She said she would see what she could do, and to hang on, comes back and says that the phones £79.99 but will give me a £74.99 discount, is that okay ? I said yeh okay I will go for that.
Maybe, just maybe I could have got the £5 off as well ??
Anyway I did not want to go through the hassel of moving, since I have an XDA2 and these have to be unlocked from the O2 network to use elsewhere with varying successrates. So I get a £5 K700i to sell on Since I got a free replacement XDA2 about 2 weeks ago !
So I suggest you go straight for cancellation and tell them straight that you wanted x phone but that it costs for upgrade but if you move it to another provider its free, and see what deal they offer you. If you push a bit harder you may even get it totally for free.

whilst it is good sense to push the companies getting a K700i is probably fairly standard business for them now, it's free on pretty much all their tarrifs anyway so they will give them without too much pushing. fair play if you are just selling it on though0
