Hi I am in the process of changing broadband provider from AOL to Tiscali. As part of the switch, Tiscali transfer me to use their call service (free weekend).

I am currently with Primus who I have been delighted with. Has anyone any advice as to how I can continue the switch to Tiscali but stay with Primus?

Thanks!

You have to agree * to CPS your telephone calls to Tiscali Talk, and if you do this unless you buy an expensive £7.99 amonth 24/7 call bundle your be on the Free Weekend Call Package with the expensive peak/evening geographical calls, and the expensive 0845/0870 calls.

*After you enter phone number to sign up you have to agree this.
"I understand that with this package Tiscali will provide my telephone calls as well as my broadband. "

    Hi Tozer

Who is your line rental with ? BT or AOL.

If you just want Tiscali Bband tell them you dont want their CPS calls. Use BT and CPS Primus.
You may have to negotiate with them. Otherwise they would charge you £2 more for BBand without calls! according to their Tiscali Products, broadband page.

I am with Tiscali but I refused their offer of CPS, but I was an existing BBand customer getting the cheaper by £2 deal. See post #2 (2006)

Primus dont always allow all their packages without CPS. Maybe check with them.

If you take the Tiscali 4.49 p a month Broadband only deal you have to cps your calls to them,no ifs or buts, but you dont have to move your line rental. However you can only have one cps provider so you cant use Primus.

OTOH, because it'd be a CPS service, you could still use 1899 and/or 18185 and/or 18866 for calls which you wouldn't get free with Tiscali.
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.
