This is my first time submitting on here although I read often, but in response to the above.

I have very recently (and the offer is still on) subscribed to FHM for 6 months for £16.99. I usually end up buying it every month anyway so I have saved £4.01 to start with, plus I get a free console game - 'Alone in the Dark' for either the XBox 360, or the Wii.

yes but with the elle magazine and free purfume it says must be six month promo and after the six months for six pound you have to pay at normal price minus 15% so not as good a bargin? Have I understood that right as you cannot cancel after six months.

I applied for this offer online on the 12th for a 6months sub. I have just had a look on the site and it is now showing as a 12months sub. It definetly said 6months when I placed my order:confused:

Me too gingerchick! I signed up by direct debit and it said (in T&Cs when I ordered) you can cancel it at anytime with your bank, so I intend to as soon as the first (£6) payment comes off! It does say in my order history (on magazine-group.co.uk who I signed up through) that the period of subscription is 6 issues?

thanks, just checked my order history too and it is a 6 months subscription I signed up for:j

I was going to sign up for Red mag, but that's a 12 months sub, so i'm not going to bother with that one;)
  • just signed up. what a bargain thanks very much
I just signed up for this offer, online, didnt ask for the code, but my email confirmed that I had the Aveda offer, and six months at £6.00
    so it must work

Have just signed up to the Marie Clare offer....
it says on the first page that you do NOT need to enter the promo code to get the Aveda gift...

Just wanted to check... when exactly can I cancel the subscription? (only want it for the 6 months at £6). Also, must I cancel in writing by email to them? Or just with my bank? Can't see anything in the t&c's....

Also, McLeod.... what did it say in your email about the aveda gift? My email just confirms order is being processed, nothing anywhere about gift :(

    Thanksssss :)
  • Looks like they ran out of Aveda gifts so they've sent some pretty poor Elemis stuff instead - all at sample sizes.

They are hiding behind "All Gifts are subject to availability"

Most unimpressed and would be interested to know if this, being mailorder, is
a misnomer and that they haveto supply what was ordered.

Hmmm, not the only person who's been set inferior gift then. Yep, Elemis set worth about £20 by my reckoning - and have two of the samples already, so wouldn't have signed up if I'd known. Asked specifically when I subscribed whether I'd get the Aveda gift - have had this happen in the past - and was told yes. Have emailed them to say not at all happy and what are they going to do about it. Haven't even had the magazine yet, either - has anyone else?

    Hmmmm......
Let us know if you get an response to the emails.... I am still waiting for the magazine, and the gift....

For those not wanting to go beyond the 6 issues for £6, how are you going to go about cancelling?
I am thinking of just cancelling with my bank now, as the payment has gone through..... or should I email/write to the company aswell?

Have just had both email - and magazine arrive. Email says this:

Thank you for your email regarding your subscription to Marie Claire.

As stated in all our advertisements, the original gift was subject to availability. This subscription offer proved to be a very popular offer and far exceeded our expectations; we therefore tried to obtain further stocks from our suppliers so as not to disappoint our new subscribers. We are sorry to say, we were unsuccessful.

However, we were keen to still welcome our new subscribers with a gift and that is why you received the alternative gift. We are unable to offer you a further alternative and apologise for any inconvenience caused.

We can confirm that your subscription will commence with the August edition. This issue will be published on 3rd July.

We do hope that you will enjoy receiving Marie Claire on subscription, and that this will not mar that enjoyment in any way. Should you have any further queries, please contact our Customer Care Helpline on 0845 676 7778, please choose option 3, alternatively you can e-mail us at ipcsubs@qss-uk.com

Anyway, have now emailed to say sorry, that doesn't cut it. Specifically asked if you had enough to go around and was told yes, and now you've sent out a gift worth half the value. Will post any response.
