How about a rose or a tree with a name relevant to getting married/ romance etc. Put a message saying something corny like "May your love blossom and grow".

I think it is not how much you spend but the idea. It is also good to try and give something a little bit different.

Then, mark their wedding date in your diary and send them a lovely card on their 1st anniversary. I remember who remembered my 1st anniversary but couldn't tell you what most people bought me for the wedding

It's easy to give in to that negative voice that chants "cant do it" BUT we lift each other up.
We dont count all the runners ahead of us & feel intimidated.
Instead we look back proudly at our journey, our personal struggle & determination & remember that there are those that never even attempt to reach the starting line.

Not tried this for a wedding but did it for a christening and it went down well.
Bought a cheap spiral bound notebook and decorated the cover with name, date etc then got everyone at the party to write in the book. A fantastic momento of the day. Or a memory box. Buy or decorate a box with name, date etc then the bride and groom can put in their treasured items such as photos, invitations, gift tags etc.

I think the wedding's likely to have a guest book already - it's quite a common thing....

a journal with some fancy pens to write their 'new life together' diary..

vouchers as above. (or a gift card that can be topped up).

moving picture frame (like a slideshow? not sure what technical term is).

bottle of bubbly. stick a picture of the couple on the back.

  • I recently bought some bits for my upcoming wedding from a wholesaler that had loads of good gift ideas. I actually bought 60 T Light holders and got them at a very good price. It was under their normal minimum order amount but they took the order. It might be worth having a look.

Rose bushes are a good idea. I bought some for my brother and SIL when they married and they'll last forever with little maintenance.

I've ordered from Crocus before and they are very high quality plants. Here's some suitable rose names:

I found a clematis too - they don't need much maintenance either and look pretty growing up a fence/wall/trellis.

Here I go again on my own....
  • A girl I used to work with recently got married abroad. Small do, nobody else went.

She's having the reception in a couple of weeks - now that they are home. The problem is, what on earth do I take to give them??!!

I don't have a lot to spend, and the happy couple have lived together for years so dont need anything house related.

    Please help!!!

    xx

:heart2: Love isn't finding someone you can live with. It's finding someone you can't live without :heart2:
