Could you find one of these cheap baskets from a charity shop and fill it with some nice delicatessen goodies from a supermarket. Tie a big bow around it if it's got a handle and stuff the base with some crumpled tissue paper and it will look very attractive.

I know the OP already has this sorted, but in case others are looking fro advice.

A couple of times, I've given a comendium of board games -chess, draughts, yatzee, cards etc (always the niee wooden ones). And write on it "For when you get bored on the honeymoon." people think it's fun, and something most people wouldn't give, but everyone likes to play games sometimes.

Also for a summer wedding, i got a set for sumer eating of those gorgeous brightly coloured plastic cups, a jug with stirrers, bowls for punch/salads ect. If you know the couple have a garden and like to have BBQs it's a really helpful gift.

I think people get stuck in this idea that it has be crystal or silver or something fancy. useful and fun gifts are just as appreciated.

How about an alternative gift? try World Vision or Oxfam ect, thay have some lovely ideas, for about £12 you can pay for a meal for 70 children in Africa. Or donate a goat or chickens ect, it also a bit different.

I was about to suggest the same as paperbird. I am having an evening reception on Saturday and we simply want people to celebrate with us. We are not after wedding presents. In fact we have specifically asked for none. If people want and only if they want they can make a donation for two charities we are supporting. So I too would suggest an alternative present, especially if they already have everything.
