custardy i think you need to chill out sometimes, we all know you are a model postman that does everything the correct way and by the book ;)

seems people feel the mass are lazy theives
i do the job as it needs to be done
i cut corners where it helps the customer
i follow the rules where it benifits the customer or service
however a thief i am not,as are the bulk of rm workers(not just postmen/women)
yet not sending an item sd means it will just be stolen?

We spoke to the retailer and in order to get a refund we'd have to post it back via recorded delivery (quoted at £30) and we'd have to foot the cost of that ourselves.

If it's costing £30 for recorded delivery that would make the package weigh about 14-16Kg, and special delivery next day (according to rm site) has a limit of 10Kg. Standard parcels with extended cover cover might be cheaper as it's about £15 for up to 20Kg and + £3.50 for cover upto £500.

Also the camera rather than being full black as advertised had a silver shutter instead -_-.

At no point does it point out that it's imported stock or that the colour of the lens cover is different.

Are you talking about the lens cover or the silver bit around the lens? If it's the lens cover you're talking about i.e. the bit at the front which slides up/down then it's not a Sony camera. Do you really expect them to produce a hybrid monstrosity of black + OMG I'M SILVER lens cover?

As for sending the camera back because the bit around the lens isn't black then this is the only response I can think of -

Btw, did the silver SONY logo bother her too? ;)

Yes my gf should have been more careful with buying off a dealer through amazon, but to be fair to her, they didn't exactly make it clear in terms of what she'd actually be getting.

I'm sorry but how clear does she want them to be? And tbh, she should've done her research prior to buying. A quick search on google images should suffice. Failing that, dig around on ebay, see above :)

FWIW I got my new phone, a black N82, last week, but I'm not throwing toys out of the pram because it's not 100% black...

Darn, could have gone on the tiles with that, bought a camera we did not want and still have change left over. But shows the integrity, hic hic hic, of Custardy instead

custardy, you fell foul of my warped sense of humour.

3 recorded delivery items TO me and one FROM me have disappeared without trace in the last 6 weeks. No loss to me, as I will get refunds, but obviously stolen and not 'lost'.

    That's four too many.

It's not suprising given how slack some posties are though. I received a recorded delivery item the other day which was just pushed through my letterbox. Two barcode labels on it, so it's delivery was never recorded. Lo and behold, it still isn't trackable online, as I've got the sticker the postie should have kept IF I HAD SIGNED FOR IT.

Three HD-DVDs came in the post last week. Well, one did. The other two had obviously been ripped open (mega-glued box ends ripped off) and the contents removed. No loss to me, as they will be replaced, but why do they think it's OK to do it???

Before I finish my mini-rant, can I ask why posties are always too lazy to close gates behind them, especially when they had to open them to start with???
