  • I tend to use https://www.novatech.co.uk for nearly all my it purchases. Great prices and great service.

I got an Acer TravelMate C111Tci over a year ago now and even though it is a tatty little thing (10.4" screen), it certainly gets attention when used as a tablet (functionality is much better since updating to XP SP2)... it does what I want and is very portable (I do have an external DVD/CD writer when I need it as well as a floppy, but I rarely do)... having said that I do like to show off the features when I get the chance - the hand writing tools and games are the biggest attraction.

The problem's usually between the chair and the keyboard :rotfl:

    Dixons last time....never again!

As someone who knows very little, I rely on PC World etc when I know I shouldn't. You guys have taught me lots.

Did see one in PC World though £399, Tower & Monitor. 256mb Ram, 2.8 GHZ processor and 80GB HDD

Can't afford right now though...and need to look around online too

Speaking of PC World... I made an order with them online, then cancelled it straight away coz I forgot to order another thing that would enable me to have free p+p... they confirmed the cancellation, but still debited my account. I'm majorly hacked off about this. They must make millions out of other people's interest! Usually with orders over the net, my account isn't debited until dispatch. They have me to look forward to tomorrow I can tell ye!

I build my own and for other people I know and I would have added this to the vote option except its been missed out. lol.

I also used to go computer fairs a lot but I found they are getting worse and not really as cheap compared to ordering all parts off net from different companies.

I have built PCs in the past as a hobby... Don't have much time to do so now & I like new challenges.

I haven't been to a fair for ages - I will note that. Thanks.

    EuroPC

Top service and computer. Friends of ours recommended them after having two for themselves from EuroPC and one for their parents.
