Never had a prob with T Value electrics. Best micro and vacuum cleaner I've ever had! Iron ok and blender much better than the annabel karmel once I'd used before!

Dont be fooled into thinkin ya need loads of cleaning stuffs either (like my daughter did when she moved out  ) I would go for....

1)pack of TeaTowels that have some terry & some waffle (fluff & smooth) - you use smooth ones for glasses etc so you dont get fluff in ya beer _ these need to be boil washed (very hottest wash) so save them up & do once a week or a fortnight
    2) pack microfibre cloths - for cleaning polishing - follow the washing instructions on the pack
    3) pack of cheapy dish cloths - wash in with tea towels -replace when 'tired'
    4) pack of scourers - idealy not the sponge back ones - theyre useless - the best are flat & have a coarse & a softer side (vileda i think):T
    5) bottle of STARDROPS 60-70p in Wilkos- scrounge an old spray bottle of mum relative or mate:money: & dilute the stardrops 9-1 (thats about an inch in the bottom of the spray bottle if its clear) this mix can be used on almost all surfaces (seek out the stardrops thread) can also be used to pre-treat stains on your washing & brings up a lovely shine on hard surfaces -use with the microfibre cloths -no need to buy kitchen cleaner/bathroom cleaner , polish - this stuff does it all:A
    6) washing Powder
    7) thin bleach - actually can be hard to find but is cheap - good for sterilising surfaces such as toilet seats/ kitchen floors or removing stains on kitchen ware - do rinse well after tho
& if the water is hard in your area -8) limescale remover for the toilet

bicarb & washing soda etc I would buy only as needed
I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I Know

Haha - you've not tried a Nitha special yet!

Fry an onion or two, add some frozen brocolli, cauliflower, spinach and peas and saute until soft. Then add tinned tomatoes and some boiling water. Bring to the boil and simmer for half and hour. Blend with the Tesco value three pound hand blender.

I leave it like that as I use it for baby food too, but you can add a veg stock cube, curry powder, herbs and garlic or even mustard. Then freeze.

WARNING! If you're going to use a Tesco £3 blender, then don't blend while your stuff is still boiling hot. I whizzed soup, the bit round the blade buckled and it became unhygienic, as stuff got stuck there. IMO it was a bad buy, working out at about £1.50 per use. :rotfl:

    :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl: Hi SS

I'm off work sick, so looking at places I don't often look at on mse now I'm getting a bit better (can sit up at the computer). This is a great thread - I was actually searching for advice on how to use stardrops, and have ended up reading the whole thing (told you I was sick! :rotfl: ) but the thing I find funniest of all is that you think a TV stand is an essential you can't do without! Bless! What it is to be 26 or 27.... I did see it on your DFW thread, it just hadn't struck me then.

Okay, I admit it, I'm warped. Shutting up now...

And good for you for doing this. Hope the laydeez come flocking to your (immaculate) door.

Got me one of these today after my second cheapie tesco one firstly melted with soup & then the blade came out...once bad enough but twice confirmed that it wasnt worth the money!! This will be fab for you as has a mini blender (dont do what I did & clean it while the blade is in...I now have a large paster on my shredded finger...after it eventualy stopped bleeding!), soup whizzer and whisk plus its half price at the moment at argos. Noticed that they also have a new all you need kit of kitchen stuff for about £34...tesco was 50+ (looked for you while I was researching blender & o pepys I'm not looking for a toy boy before people get suss!)...
Hope youre feeling better karmacat :)
Argos also have irons in the sale - makes sure you get one with steam bit or things like cotton shirts are a mare. Can you get your mum to teach you to iron (although she is naughty not teaching you earlier - plus cooking!!)? Have you started looking for a flat yet?

    That's a shame coz I'm looking for a rich older woman! :D

Will I need a blender? :undecided I don't know what I'd blend in it! :rotfl:

Haven't started looking yet. Will after the weekend when I tell the folks. Only want to tell them so I can order my TV! :T

I can iron. Just don't have much practice. Besides, my mum is the worst ironer ever. She ruins all my clothes. But it's still easier to buy new than do it myself! :rotfl:

    1. So am I. Although, in my case, a rich younger woman would be an acceptable alternative.

    2. A hand blender is something to consider, if you get the hang of this cooking lark. It is the only electrical kitchen gadget (over & above the kettle, toaster & microwave oven), which didn't end up in the back of the cupboard. I was lucky to be able to use some Argos vouchers from work to invest in a really good one ...

... with a little food processor attachment.

    3. I am available for ironing masterclasses. You are dealing with someone who even makes his own ironing water by adding a drop of essential oil.

I think I'll save the money I would spend on a blender, and spend it on beer instead. :D  :rotfl:

I think I'm gonna struggle on £100 a month for grocerys! :undecided

Was in Tesco last night and was having a look at the fruit. £4 for a poxy tub of cherrys! £3 odd for a small pot of rapsberries! How the hell can people afford that?

Unfortunately, the idea is to save the money you would spend on a blender and spend it on fruit.
