I got all excited when I read about the spray tan cos I've always fancied having one but none of my local branches of the shop are taking part in it.spray tan...check first!! What a rip off! But glad I checked first..thanks for advising it!

I am a fellow "flakey" [that's me, scratching] but I'm tempted because they say: "With the push of a button the session begins with a fine mist of Aloe Vera enriched sunless-tanning solution being sprayed through the nozzles."

I like aloe vera. But I suspect, because we produce new skin at about eight times the rate of normal folk, that the sun tan would only last a few days. Why do you think we might go orange?

Any other psoriasis sufferers ever tried this?

Me! I had a spray tan with psoriasis - the colour absorbs and develops a bit more on the patches of flaky skin (as its thinner I guess) then gets a bit lighter when skin has flaked off as it didn't tan as much underneath. Overall didn't look too bad though, not as noticeable as I thought it might be, as the areas affected already looked 'different' before I had it done IYSWIM. Didn't end up looking really patchy, and definitely lasted more than a few days with the right after-care (regular moisturising, dabbing dry not rubbing etc). I guess it depends on how much area of your skin is affected, or whether its smaller areas like elbows/knees etc.
  • I think it depends where you are, mine was £2 x

I think that the tanning shop offer is rather limited really! They have 83 outlets but you can only use the voucher in 14 as they only have 17 outlets which are not franchises and 3 of those do not do spray tanning. That is therefore only a 16-17% aprox amount of outlets you can use the voucher in.

I could understand that they could not honour the offer in the 10 outlets without spray tan facilities, but to exclude franchises that bear the tanning shop logo and make up 83-84% of the business seems wrong, although the offer states that you need to confirm your local is participating, you would have thought that it would have been due to 16-17% not participating, not that that measly amount were!

  • as a beauty therapist i use st tropez tanning spray it is fantastic for psoriasis and it lasts 5-7 days for everyone regardless the the secret to make it last longer is to exfoliate thoroughly i use radox exfoliating shower gel and moisurise with any body moisturiser the cheaper ones are usually the best like the ones from lidl and aldi or even tesco own make

Just called my local tanning shop, although they are not part of the offer. I asked about it and they said they would do it for £5!

Sorry i just meant wouldnt the psoriasis go orange or brown? Whenever ive tried to apply foundation or fake tan at home its always made the psoriasis orange/brown. (obviously colouring the white flake bits, tmi sorry!)
