back from my teaching course :)

Have to start thinking about exactly what I'm going to be doing in my 30 minute teaching 'test' this week (as well as another assignment). As there are no cooking facilities, I'll either do something like talking about seasonal fruit and veg and what they can be used for, make a no-cook dessert, the different spices and what they are useful for or even a 'store cupboard' essentials session..........I'll start thinking.....

the tutor said because of my PR background, I could also think about teaching basic Skills for Life stuff like preparing a CV, so I might approach the manager at work who looks after that kind of stuff. She said that I should also think about working with people who are in rehabilitation who need basic skills like nutrition and basic cookery etc.

When doing the next stage, I need to also get a total of 30 hours teaching under my belt to pass as part of the assess, ent so I need to start thinking about where I'm going to get those hours from.

Anyhoo, back to work for me. Am waiting for someone from dentistry to return my bell (they're using it for some exams) so I gave them the big (think old school) bell as it will be heard despite the medics noise-making!

Hope to be back online later on. Have a good day everyone.

Is that the noise of all those drills? Is it a practical exam?
I couldn't think of anything worse :rotfl:

Good idea jacs - I also had the idea today of teaching 14-16 year olds basic cookery. Adult Education does some classes for this age group already - those who really don't 'get on' with the traditional school setting. They do hairdressing (for example) and then go off to the FE college to do something when they reach 16. Ithought with the re-introdution of cookery into schools being very 'in' at the moment, there is a need for those leaving school soon to have these basic skills taught as they'll miss out at school.

I'll add it to my list of ideas of what I want to teach.

If I want to teach Skills for Life, i'd need to do a separate certificate as well, I think.

I've replied to the email sar. Hope you don't think I'm being negative, just think of me as the Simon Cowell of the DFW board lol. Actually it's more a reflection on the music industry in general rather than the track... but do mention to ste that there is a thing called a ride cymbal and to get off that crash :D love him really :rotfl:
