Probably a bit less hot than the Algarve and with some nice sea breezes. It's still about as far south as the Costa Blanca although obviously not on the Mediterranean (but then neither is the Algarve).0 -
Cascais which is a few train stops from Estoril is nice - on the atlantic coast so you do get a breeze which would be nice at that time of year - also you can get to Lisbon on the train very easily/cheaply if you fancied a day outKeep the Faith:cool:0

Spain is a large country, and only a small part of it has been over-developed as a tourist destination. If you like Portugal, you might enjoy smallish Spanish cities like Jaez and Ubuda, on the way to the fabulous Cazorla national park. Within the park, the small town of Cazorla has quite a resort feel, with some good restaurants and bars and some find old architecture.0

How about a cruise, plenty of cheap ones around, get to see a few places, bar entertainment and good food while you get transported to the next place.
Plenty of younger people are catching on to this great value for money way to travel.
£400pp will get you 7nights easy full board(all you can eat)
TXT 227,228,262.
ISland cruises are great value and http://www.cruise1st.co.uk/ (owned by Island cruise/first choice) has the best deals, see the TXT adds on pg227 the Island star is the beter of the two ships.0 -
Have you thought about any of the Greek islands? I really didn't fancy Greece at all, until my husband and I went to Lindos, on Rhodes.
Despite still being young enough to go clubbing (just about!) we too like relatively quiet holidays. Lindos is all little cobbled streets with loads of gorgeous restaurants, most of which have romantic roof terraces.
Lindos definitely doesn't feel British, or too tacky/touristy.0 -
i would also recommend greece have a look on www.olympicholidays.co.uk or try croatia or a diy to sicily
dont write off all of spain either if you liked the algarve, try the area just over the border- the costa del luz
if you want portugal try the tavira end... gorgeous0 -

I never thought we'd be able to afford a cruise thanks. Just had a look on that site, seems July is quite expensive (cheapest about £600 each) but thank you anyways. I would love to do a cruise!0 -
Island cruises drop the prices the closer you get and the lowest price is always the week before if anythng left, July before the school hols should come down to £400,
Another option is easycruise greek islands allthough they are having issues getting the new ship sailing. Initial cost will be lower but yo have to budget for fod.0
