UKOnline - the new NTL (Hell)

Due to various delays by both UKOnline and my old broadband ISP I have been waiting since May to migrate my broadband to UKOnline.
THe old ISP is now out of the way so I have spent the last two weeks trying to get UKOnline to conect the service that they have been charging me for since May. When I am able to ge through on the phone all I am told is that an email will be sent to the appropriate person - and then nothing happens till I call back and get told that they are very busy and nothing has been done and they don't know when anything will be done...
So at the start of last week I got fed up and tried to cancel - now it is even more impossible to get through on the phone (eg this morning waited 30 minutes at 0845 4p/minute before giving up) and if the phone is answered get told I need a different department and again put on never ending hold.
So I am signed up on credit card authority, can't cancel, can't talk to anyone and no service - I was thinking it was as bad as NTL customer services but it is worse, at least with NTL you are not paying to be on hold...
Time to diss them on all the isp forums methinks.

Not forgetting to cancel the DD first as a returned DD you will be charged for.
Also send them a letter in writing and keep a copy for yourself.0 -
My father in law wanted to have broadband - he is quite happy with the low speed cheap service so I let him sign up with ukonline instead of demon who I have had trouble free service from for two years. At first they denied he'd paid them. Then after a month they admitted he had. The service was not connected for 2 months after sign up despite payment for those months.0
