Sold another couple of items for £60 and although I had to pay paypal fees on one, there were no Ebay fees as I sold through a parenting site :j .

On the downside, we've looked into leasing and decided buying another car is the way to go. The money from selling both cars will go to buying a new one. Not really in keeping with MFW but my car is starting to get expensive. The aircon packed up last week so a £300 fix and one of the rear doors has stopped locking on the central locking, the service is due next week and the MOT is due the end of November

Doesn't look like we'll make our MF date as April 2009 now
  • Ok another change of plan. The price advertised on the new car at www.broadspeed.com wasn't available so we've managed to get a new model Merc A Class for £153 a month including VAT. The contract is only for 2 years so by the time its up we can think again whether it is our best option to continue leasing or to buy.

The good news is that we'll then have the money from our old cars to use as OPs :j . Just have to sell them first. The new car arrives on the 15th so we need to have got shot of at least one by then  .

Things are feeling a bit tight still but have paid a total of £927 off the mortgage as OPs this month although £592 of that is what goes out by DD.
  • Sold something else for £20 with no fee to pay. The OHs car is for sale so if it sells near the asking price then that'll be £7k for the kitty. Mine on the other hand had the wipers pack up at the weekend which has cost £130 to repair and the garage cracked the windscreen  . Obviously they denied it so we've agreed I'll claim off my insurance and they'll pay the excess but what a pain. This car is costing me a fortune and I' selling it soon so don't want to be spending on it :(

    Good luck selling the car:money:
  • Well the good news is there's only going to be 19 at the party so about £100 saved.

The bad news is that the OHs car hasn't sold so he has dropped the price to £6,200 (the book price is £7,200). It makes me want to cry it cost £12k 2 years ago!

Never mind we'll keep ploughing on.

Cars are truly a pain in the neck:o

    Keep it up:T
  • Getting inpatient now, the annual mortgage statement is due in October and I can't wait to see how much we've paid off in the last year. I think it's about £35k.

Still no interest in the OHs car  .

Was going to draw money from my Paypal account to use as OP but spent it on xmas pressies instead. The OH is pressuring me to lower the OPs but I'm not keen to do that. I think if I lower our OP that goes out by DD our MFW status will go out the window. He just isn't into it as much as me.
  • The good news is I sold a few bits so made £60 OP, on the downside my new car has arrived and we still have the 2 others which we haven't managed to sell. I don't think there'll be much in the way of OPs this month (again!) but still looking forward to our annual mortgage statement.

I was able to make another £80 OP today due to selling a few more bits so thats £140 so far for my month (usually starts on about the 22nd when OH gets paid). Still got more bits to sell but trying to avoid Ebay to maximise the income.
