This debt saving becomes addictive. I am still looking for any extra ways to save further but am struggling now. I think I have made the essential savings already. If anyone has any further ideas please let me know.

Next step then is to join in a challenge - the "make £10 a day" challenge runs each month, although you can join in any time, or just get the ideas and run!

On that thread, along with the olympic challenge thread and others, is loads of ideas for making a bit of extra money - if you could make an extra £320 on top of the £260 a month you are already saving, you would be well on your way to making significant inroads into the debt!

Also, check out the freebies threads, read up on Quidco and Topcashback and see if you can make use of these fab fab cashback sites - when you next change your car insurance, for example, if you do it through quidco you can get anything up to £120 cash back!! No strings!!

The "make £10 a month" challenge for June is now up......get your name added to your list - between you and your OH you can get an extra £300 by the end of the month!!

In my experience, the tax man is quite quick in making refunds.....get that claim in!!

    5) Groceries - We were spending £400 per month in Tesco. Have now changed to Aldi and have got the bill down to £280 per month. It was suprising that some of the cheaper products from Aldi tasted BETTER than the premium products from Tesco!!! ... (£120 per month saving)

    Hi Sabs,

Well done on the groceries, we also have a young child still in nappies and we budget £50 a week on all groceries including the pampers and wetwipes etc. I shop in Tesco. I find the best thing to do is meal plan for the week, write a list and stick to it. Cooking from scratch helps too, is cheaper and healthier ;)

I use a website called Netmums (but it's also for Dads) https://www.netmums.com You register (free) with your local site and it's full of pages of things to do, places to go and fantastic feeding/recipes/eating on a budget pages.

Well done on the savings you have already made!
