    Thanks Bayblue for your reply.

I didn't even think about things like presents, haircuts, etc. Factoring that all in will finish up my remaining surplus per month that will leave me with no penny to spend on the debts!!

    GETTING MORE DEPRESSED!!

    With regards to debts:

    Lloydstsb £25,000 - 5 years £420 p/m
Northern Rock Loan £22,000 - 35 years £120 (borrowed on top of morgage (unsecured)
    Northern Rock Loan £15,000 - 8 years £140

    Hey sabs

Debts are depressing, but don’t allow the situation to take over.

Providing you keep to your PRIORITY debts, i.e. mortgage, water, council tax, gas, elec, you’ll be fine, as for your other debts “Unsecured” debts these are not priority debts regardless what any creditor / DCA tells you.

Once you take control of these debts which won’t be long with the help of one of the debt charities, you’ll soon regain some control.
Click here for Martins (MSE) advice on who to contact with Debt Issues - YOU HAVE NO REASON TO USE A FEE PAYING DEBT MANAGEMENT COMPANY- THEY CANNOT DO ANYMORE FOR YOU THAN THOSE LISTED IN MY LINK ABOVE.

All information given by myself is offered informally and without prejudice - if in doubt seek help from a qualified and insured professional

Sabs, did you negotiate a new deal in April?

Btw, my £47.00 per month is A LIFETIME DEAL, except general inflation rises.

OK, go to this website here, register, they have a Tunisia forum, ask in there about any deals for calling Tunisia, someone will know the answer.

Well don't get more depressed, because you are in the right place to sort things out ;) .

Don't take this the wrong way but although you do have some high outgoings you also have a fairly decent salary so that means that there's a lot that can be done to help sort things out. You and your wife are going to have tio make some changes but in all honesty most of the time you proabably won't even notice the differences. For instance I'm almost positive that there's a way for her to make those phone calls much cheaper and with some careful budgeting you will soon find that you're making inroads into those debts.

A lot of us have been wasting money without thinking about it before we came here, so stop worrying for the time being and see what replies you get tomorrow. Then with armed with advice, you can take the necessary steps do some careful planning you'll soon be on the right track.

That's why your paying so much.

What you need to do later, although not sure if the dept is open on Sunday, call Monday if not.

Call 150 from your home phone, select option 1, (billing) option 1 again (billing) *this avoids calls going to India) when connected, ask for "Retentions dept" when connected, let them believe your leaving becase your monthly bill is to expensive, see what they come up with.

If you cannot get "Retentions" today (Sunday) follow the instructions above, then ask for Customer Relations" and explain the same again, only speak to either one of those departments.

You make good sense. I do earn a decent salary (about £50k) and that is the only reason we haven;t been missing any payments, yet. My concern is that if you look at the history, everytime i get a promotion, is when i fact i start to splash out and borrow more money.

10past6 has just given me details of a forum that hopefully will get me info on cheaper calls to tunisia and that would obviously make a big difference...

The only other solution that i can see is to get a part time job... ?
