That's why your paying so much.

What you need to do later, although not sure if the dept is open on Sunday, call Monday if not.

Call 150 from your home phone, select option 1, (billing) option 1 again (billing) *this avoids calls going to India) when connected, ask for "Retentions dept" when connected, let them believe your leaving becase your monthly bill is to expensive, see what they come up with.

If you cannot get "Retentions" today (Sunday) follow the instructions above, then ask for Customer Relations" and explain the same again, only speak to either one of those departments.
I will give that a try first thing in the morning.

btw, do you know what notice period you have to give to cancel with VMedia?

Do you not have contents insurance or Life insurance?, both are essential in my opinion, especially as you have a largish mortgage and a child.

Call one of the debt charities listed above today, you will have a brief discussion with them, they will give you an appointment for a telephone interview.

When you have finished on the phone with the debt advisor today, send this letter to each creditor, send by RECORDED DELIVERY:

    Your Address

    Creditor Name

    Dear Sir/Madam

    Re:− Account/Reference Number xxxxxxxxxxxxx

We are writing to inform you that we are seeking advice and assistance regarding our current financial difficulties via [ NAME OF DEBT CHARITY & REF NUMBER].

To this end, we would appreciate if you could hold any action on the above account for a period of at least 28 days.

Also, during this period, could you please freeze interest and/or any other charges accruing on the above account?

We look forward to hearing from you as soon as possible.

    Pension? Are you contributing?

    Mobile - Far too high
I personally would get rid of the cable tv and get freeview - £97 saved, nothing but rubbish on it anyway.

Don't take this the wrong way, but with £62,000 debt, you are going to have to do something and it will mess up your credit rating, but that shouldn't be a huge problem, you are not wanting any more credit, or you?

When does your fix rate on the mortgage end?

Tell you OH that you are £62,000 in debt, show him/her the figures, £97 will go towards paying your debts quicker, or you could put half of it into your pension, with tax relief it could be almost £60 per month into your pension.

Do call one of the charities, CCCS for example, they will help you.
