    Hello,

Currently we don't have the process implemented for normal BAU to provision new lines, this will come in the future but like i have said in previous posts we don't have any time-scales for this.

    Thanks

I certainly wasn't aware that BT would charge me for leaving them when I switched to talktalk. It would be nice if that was mentioned as a possibility by talktalk somewhere !

That is the whole point, they are signing people up while they are still under contract to BT or telling them that BT have to install a line before they can transfer to their service, but while they are fully aware that it is a twelve month contract with BT they are conveniently not telling them and the customers are being charged a cancellation fee by BT.

The first the majority of people, who do not realise, find out is when they get stung with a bill from BT, it is a very dubious and underhand tactic to get new customers.

    Hi,

If a customer contacts us wanting to sign up to TalkTalk its the customers responsibility to know if they are already in a contact with another provider and understand what that would mean as per there T&C`s.

Granted if we tell a customer that getting a BT line is free then this is wrong....

    Thanks

    Hi,

If a customer contacts us wanting to sign up to TalkTalk its the customers responsibility to know if they are already in a contact with another provider and understand what that would mean as per there T&C`s.

But it goes back to my point:
It would be nice if that was mentioned as a possibility by talktalk somewhere !

There is a lack of transparancy otherwise.

Most people - I suspect - do not know that they are in a 12 month contract with BT until they get a bill for 'breaking their contract'.

Have a look at post #18 here from Thursday 24th Jan 2008, 11:32 AM, the "unofficial" members forum - http://www.talktalkmembers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=141&page=2
"BT.... allow you to terminate your contract after installation but demand an early cessation fee for doing so"

Seems, as we all suspected, TT are well aware of BTs Terms & Conditions.
"TalkTalk are aware that this is not convenient" is self explanatory and yet we still get TT Support on here denying all knowledge.
