Any chance of an extenson if one has routed 99% of ones calls through 18866 ??

  • Long chat with the guy from the Option team who has asked me to stay at least until their new offers come out probably mid November in time for the Christmas push and to ring him back then.

He has credited my account with £5 now to help cover the cost of calls until this time and given me his direct number. Sadly he didn't seem to have heard of JustDial icon11.gif

I received a letter from Talk Talk advising me that my 1 + 12 free tariff was due to end early in October and that I would automatically be downgraded to their free calls at weekends only tariff. When I contacted Talk Talk to ascertain the changeover date I was advised it was the 26th September. Their letter was misleading and I could have incurred charges for calls made on weekday evenings commencing the 26th September had I not contacted them.

I too rang Talk Talk, explained that I had been happy with their service but that
Just Dial Saver were offering me a better deal. Their representative had heard of
Just Dial Saver and offered me a six months extension. I.E. same tariff now costs £4.99 per month, Talk Talk credit account with £5.00, result, 1p credit. However I was informed that my 6 months extension would not begin until my next billing date [approx 20th October] and that all weekday evening calls made between the 26th September and the 20th October would be chargeable. Not a problem, I’d use 18866 instead. However when I received Talk Talk's invoice dated
25th September I noticed that £4.99 had been charged and £5.00 credited indicating that Talk Talk had already implemented my free 6 months extension. I contacted
Talk Talk and was advised that my free 6 months extension began on the 24th September.

For peace of mind I would recommend that anyone who has received a similar letter check their downgrade changeover date and anyone who has negotiated a free 6 months extension check on what date it commences.

Talk Talk’s representative hinted that Carphone Warehouse would like to acquire
Just Dial Saver and One.Tel and suggested that I should consider changing CPS to Just Dial Saver. The reason: With other CPW acquisitions, CPW have honoured existing contracts and tariffs.

I have applied to Just Dial Saver for their free evening and weekend calls tariff at £0.00 per month as nowhere in their T&C’s does it mention that this offer is time limited. However, despite several emails I have heard nothing from Just Dial Saver to date.

I wonder what the new deals will be in November ,cant see how they can go better then free evening and weekend calls .Cant see them offering free day time calls . perhaps they will pay me to use the phone .now that is a novel Idea ,I could sign up to that lol

I think this is the standard of customer service you can expect from JDS .I still have 10.5 months of free calls with Talk Talk but if I didnt get free evening calls I still wouldn't touch JDS .
I used to use onetel part of the same company and in the end I returned to BT .I told onetel my
blood pressure couldn't cope with there customer service .
Free calls are one thing ,but stress free customer service and peace of mind is something else .

EDIT just a thought ,but has anyone else managed to get the full 12 month extention with talk talk
