Since May(?) O2 have been offering free double minutes for the first 3 months of any new contract. These minutes are not quite normal minutes in that they do not roll over.

I have 200 xnet minute tariff and have been reguarly checking my online bill and it has showed that when I make calls these were first taken from the 'extra' minutes and then from the standard minutes - eg
month 1, allowance 200 standard, 200 extra; usage 200 extra, 50 standard = roll over 150 minutes
and so on for months 2 and 3 (minutes roll over for max of 2 months ie max 400 minutes of rollover)

Until 9th September when I got my 4th bill when they decided that actually the rollover minutes were used first and the extra minutes second so actually using 250 mins in month 1 would result in no rollover minutes.

So I had a bill for september for 160 quid!!! showing 300 minutes used outside allowance (and also 320 minutes of unused rollover minutes) - all this information is only available online, not on the standard paper bills.

I obviously querried this and have been given a full refund but was informed that often the online minutes remaining numbers were complete rubbish and shouldn't be relied on...the suggestion on how to track usage - use the phones call meters!!!

So this is a heads up - check your first 4 o2 bills very carefully and if they are wrong ring up and get it fixed.
I think....

My brother had the same problem, charged him £140!
They credited his account but the full amount was still taken by DD and credited to his next bill. Luckily there was enough in to cover it.
