3 weeks taken to open skipton isa.

I applied for a skipton fixed isa at 6.25% via post on 15 th April. They sent the passbook yesterday,my id already confirmed via a previous phonecall so account was technically open just awaiting funds. They have put the £3,600 transaction paid on 8TH May to 15 th May.The cheque cashed today.I know the building societies have been busy with isa,s but I don,t understand the transaction date, plus do you think 3 weeks is a long time to aknowledge the cheque, plus if it,s 15 th April, that is nearly a month.Do you think I should ask for isa to be reasonably backdated or am I being a bit picky.Plus what does the 8 th MAY -15 TH MAY mean for the passbook transaction.Has anybody else had this via the postal system with Skipton isa,s.Thank you.

15th May is when the cheque will clear your account, so is when you can withdraw funds (although I don't think you can anyway on this account!).

May be worth writing to them to see if you can get any sort of compensation for the time it's taken but I don't think they'll backdate it now it's all open

I have been waiting 5 weeks with Barclays for my account to be open, let alone the cheque be cashed....
