Just started with the coupons and am very grateful for all the help and advice on here. Thought I would share my recent experiences. My local Tesco Metro scanned £3.75 of coupons including internet ones on a £17 bill with no problem. The big Tesco that I went to today and had a bill over £60 accepted my £4 off at Sainsbury's and a couple more but then the assistant said they now only take 5 coupons? Anyone heard that or should I go back and try a different cashier?Back to comping! July wins: Frylight August wins: Pixar DVD, Diesel Watch,£75 hamper brioche products September wins bath soak
Thanks to everyone who posts comps and help :beer:0 -
Try a different cashier, it may be the one you chose doesn't approve of (or even know) the correct policy.
If you get the same answer don't be afraid to ask them to put their light on to call a Supervisor, as you know what the policy is and you are using one of each coupon. Look a bit surprised and say in a polite and friendly way to the Supervisor you know 'there is no maximum as long as there are no duplicates'. See what they say, then you will know where you stand in that store...probably...until next time!
I know you didn't do this, geranium72, but IMHO a good tip for a newbie is never 'ask what their policy is' when using coupons. It leaves the ball in their court to quote an old policy or fob you off. You already know the policy from here and there is NO LIMIT, if you can confidently but calmly quote that as a fact you're half-way there in most stores (but just say you know this 'from another store' or 'from a friend').
It's possible that store does have a different maximum if imposed by the Store Manager - but more likely that the staff member was imposing their own opinion or quoting an old policy.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Not actually a MOC but a sample of Huggies littles walkers I'm posting here as I would be very suprised if a MOC wasn't included with the Sample like it was with the sample of dry-nites.

I know for a fact from several managers that it must be stocked in the one you are using the coupon in and also we don't take the DM book one.
You might want to check on it, I had always believed what you do until I was informed.
i have been told the same thing andy has said, for the store he is talking about, i havent also been told it in another branch aswell.0 -

Me too, the store does NOT have to stock the item if it's a coupon that will be centrally redeemed. This includes all food products AFAIK.
The only case where the store should only accepts MOCs for items they actually stock is regarding coupons for newspapers, books and magazines. That is because the stores have to redeem magazine/newspaper coupons directly with their supplier each day/week, AFAIK.
A small Metro or Express store can't pass off an Instyle coupon if they don't sell Instyle! That's what I was told in more than one store and I believe that's the issue here.
The actual policy wording says 'as long as Tesco stock the product' (not 'as long as that store stocks the product').PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, I'm new to collecting MOC's and used my first one today in Tesco! Anyway, am I correct in saying that you can use vouchers in Asda also. Is it the same policy as in Tesco i.e. you don't actually have to buy the item? The discount comes directly off your final bill?
Thanks in advance.0 -

All the Store policies are explained in the second post, on the first page of this thread. That should answer any questions you may have about each store.0
