I am shocked the coupons I have thrown away/ignored over the years, and recently with a new baby I have been inundated with what I thought were useless coupons, I had no idea you could use them to buy anything. I have always laughed at what they write on them "please don't embarass yourself by trying to use it against another product" I always though pahh! how stupid as if anyone ever would, well now I am, I am going "couponing" this afternoon in Asda THANKS to EVERYONE on this thread.AKA: PC

Is the Tesco coupon policy only for the larger stores?
I used coupons when I didn't buy the product with no problem in large stores. SA were very happy to scan once confirmed the end date. However in Tesco Metro ]the SA refused even when I ask if they would scan it.
Thank you
It's supposed to be for all stores. But I would even bother in an Express (corner shop or Petrol Station) Tesco store, and Metro stores are often very jumpy about coupons too.
I spoke to a Manager at my nearest Metro and got a 'yes' for unlimited coupons (as per the 'one of each' policy)...for a brief time. But the SAs were just so scared of the coupons, they called a Supervisor every time and sadly, last Autumn's Magazine Week promo caused them to throw in the towel and only accept one 'complimentary' coupon again.
There were loads of coupons for magazines around, and the Metro told me they had found 3 problems which meant they couldn't get the money back in the end:
1. Some people were using duplicates (same coupons mixed in a pile).
2. Some people were including those that were Co-op only (very small print).
3. Many were for magazines that the Metro doesn't even stock.
Trouble is that if a small store don't stock a magazine they can't reclaim the money (newspaper/mag coupon claims are separate from centralised food product MOC redemption, in that the store has to deal with their magazine supplier direct. They can't say they sold 20 magazines that they don't stock... ). In a large store it's not an issue as they have most mags in stock (although larger stores were still hit for a loss from the Co-op coupons).
So TBH you will always have more luck in a larger store, with any coupons.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

All of the links on the first page- if you go to the "contact us" and ask if they can send out coupons by post you should get a reply. (as well as you printing them out yourself) I did this last night and have 5 or so replies saying they've put coupons in the post for me. Fastest response was the "love the garden" one. Hope this helps people0

I have had problems with several coupons not scanning eg th In Style Magazine and several others the cashiers are very nice but cannot take the coupons if they don't scan which I understand. Is there anything I can do when printing to make them scan? I have read about a barcode generator but as a newby I don't understand what to do. Anyone got time to explain in easy steps please? I would be very grateful.0

Not sure if this will help but Ive noticed that if you print the coupon out too small it wont scan. Hope this may be of use.2008£3002009£13002010£15002011£41952012£21942013£1494
