There is obviously a lot of confusion around whether Tesco take coupons or not, so I decided to give my local Tesco Extra a chance today. So I went armed with the NoW voucher, a £3 off if you spend £30 at Sainsburys voucher and about £5 of money off vouchers for things that Tesco stock but I don't buy.
Firstly I asked at Customer Services and she said I could use either the NoW voucher or the Sainsburys one and I would be unable to use ANY of the other coupons unless I had specifically bought the product. So I just nodded, smiled and said thanks.
Next I did my shopping armed with my calculator and by my reckoning my bill should have come to approx £31. Picked the doziest looking cashier who scanned my shopping, then scanned the NoW voucher, followed by Sainsburys voucher. She then said I couldn't use the rest as I hadn't bought them, pointed out to her that there were all legal, indate coupons for items that Tesco do stock and she just scanned the lot. So my £31 shopping cost me £18 :T :T
I might try that again next week, I hope she is on the same shift...............0 -

Looks like the store manager just lost my 10 Grand a year of goodwill and custom.
The next Tesco at Oak Tree Mansfield is accepting them still at the moment so it`s still Tesco`s at the moment, unless they get greedy too.
Don`t they know there`s a recession.
It`s good while it lasts, don`t abuse it!
the reason this was stopped at the store you mention, is because some bloke went in the store and brought a £700 tv and only paid about £200. this is just taking the p and its ppl like this who spoil it for the rest of us. btw i've been told OT will soon be going to same way. got info from my happy scanner0 -

my tesco express wont take coupons if youve not bought the product and if you have they will only take the value of the product off not the value of the coupon. which annoys me as they get the full cost of the coupon back. i normally tell them to keep the shopping but dh went in there last week with £6 of coupons and only got £1.80 took off  he didnt think to say no keep the product.
they wont take printed coupons either.Wins so far this year: Mum to be bath set, follow me Domino Dog, Vital baby feeding set, Spiderman goody bag, free pack of Kiplings cakes, £15 love to shop voucher, HTC Desire, Olive oil cooking spray, Original Source Strawberry Shower Gel, Garnier skin care hamper, Marc Jacobs fragrance.0 -
