    Thanks Lisa,

I'm on quidco and use that whenever I shop online and I did join one survey site but theyve only ever sent me 1 to do for £1.

Didn't think of mystery shopping but I did think of making jewelry and selling it on ebay again not sure about that as it needs investment first and I don't know if I am any good at it - I am a creative person in most ways so I think I should be okay.

I thought about selling most of the stuff I own apart from things I really need but was very shocked to see the value of most stuff. the 70 to 100 CDs I have bought in my previous years to itunes are not even worth £1 each, nor are the books I've bought etc.

I notice in your signature you're saving coins. I have a big money pot with lots of loose change in I think I am going to go through it and sort it out to see how much I have in there. I used to use it for taxi's / takeaways but it might be better off paying towards my credit card.

Good news is I haven't spent any money today yet. It's only 1pm but still that's good. I cant get to any shops other than tesco express since I live in the middle of no where and that only sells food which I have plenty of in my fridge :)

I was thinking though, I don't have a freezer so for the past few months I have been wasting a lot of stuff thats gone off. Do you think it would be worth the investment to get a fridge freezer to outweigh the losses in food I am having at the moment? I could cook a batch of lasagne or cottage pie for example and freeze portions thus saving money?

    Will keep everyone posted.

    Hi Kelie,

Good news re : the nasty text. DONT feel bad & try to apologise, that'll just confirm that you will put up with bad treatment & I know you're not that kind of girl anymore :D.

Result on the washing & ironing, how jammy are you ;) .

Would definitely recommend a fridge freezer as you can fill it up like you said & also when buying any BOGOF's. I was going to get rid of mine as with only me & daughter it seemed wasteful but now its chocka & running more efficiently which saves money.

Dont go for one larger than you think you'll be able to fill & do have a look on freecycle & local ads as people often upgrade theirs & dont want to pay to get rid of them.

Counselling also worth a try, I'm about to start as seem to have uncanny knack of seeking out unsuitable suitors .

Cancel any accounts in your name that the !!!!!!!!!! can access - Believe me you wont regret it. According to my catalogue DCA I bought loads of car stereos & mens trainers. Didnt drive at the time & more a kitten heel kind of girl but the account was in my name so I had to pay up altho to be fair, the DCA were quite sympathetic.

Learn from my mistakes & remember, we're all here to support you :D

Thanks for all your support :) It makes things a lot less scary to deal with when you have people around you and I don't really want my parents or sister finding out about everything i've been through the last 6 months.

I have changed the password on the spread betting account so he won't be able to get in. He hasn't got the internet at his house anyway so always did it here. The other betting account where you have to deposit money in before you can bet is safe because he doesn't know my card details but I will change that password too and have him removed from the phone in account.

Good news is I've just counted up all my loose change I had in a pot. Unfortunately no notes as I used my last £20 cash yesterday. My switch card has expired and I haven't had the new one yet so until then its mastercard only. Not good.

Anyway this is all the change I had :)

    £2 coins = £4
    £1 coins - £10
    50p coins = £17
    20p coins = £26
    10p coins = £10.60
    5p coins = £12.35
    2p coins = £5.14
    1p coins = £3.79

    Total of £88.88 (freaky number!)

I've bagged it all up into the different type of coins so when I can get to the bank I'll get some coin bags and pay it in when I reach £100.

Re the new boyfriend, I remember him saying he was going to watch the local rugby with his 2 brothers and dad, so he still might turn up later. I'm not holding my breath and as painful as it feels everyone is right, I will spend a LOT less money without him around :(

Does anyone know how much would be a good budget for me on my own for food per month? I can live without alcohol easy so don't need to budget for that. The only reason I have been drinking more is because of the bf. How much should I budget for 2 people (food only) just in case?

    xx

I gave up a very very good guy just before I met this one. My ex (admittedly he is in a bit of debt now) treated me so right, but I wanted a bit of excitment. I wish I had never ever dumped him. We were together for 7 years!!! I traded it all for something I thought would make me happy and look where I am now :(

I got a call from my bf's friend, he had phoned his mums house looking for him but he didn't go home last night. He didn't come back here either so I think he might have finally done what I suspected and done the dirty on me :( I am so hurting right now :'(

    Hey Kelie,

Congratulations on dumping the bf. I'm sorry you feel sad about it but understand that even binning a bad'un still leaves a sense of loss and I'm sure Lula and Nala will back me up on that, us girlies are crazy like that!

I agree with what Incisor says too (you're actually quite sensible really). lol

I also agree with everything Lula said too!

Somehow I feel empowered for you, as though you've gone from a shrinking, pushover violet to a strong and independent, positive new Kelie.

All the very best of luck to you and keep us posted.

This afternoon my parents phoned me up and could sense I was upset so took me to ikea. My mum bought me this really wicked canvas of a zebra print to go above my bed and some candles. They are so good to me I cna never repay them with what they have done for me.

Anyway I was even more down when I got home, crying a lot. Couldn't concentrate on anything so just laid in bed. MY sister phoned up and could hear me sobbing down th phone. She said she was coming to get me, no saying no. She was definitely coming. So she picked me up with a mutual friend and fed me vodka, moet (she's very fortunate) and had planned on keeping me captive for the whole night as she knew I'd want to be home to see if my bf turned up when the pubs kicked out at 2am.

I did want to be home before 2am just in case (mug i hear you cry!!) I managed to get myself a taxi from hers to mine, for 2:15am.. and low and behold, he was knocking on my door when I arrived. He had come home to me in a taxi which he had paid for himself shock horror! So I've let him in, he's passed out on the kitchen floor and I have made a toasted sandwich and am in bed. I changed all the betting passwords earlier but one bad thing is, it cost me £10.60 to get home in a taxi from my money pot. So am a bit !!!!ed off about that.

God why do we always love the guys that are bad for us. Gah

I paid in £1 coins and 50ps so will work out the money pot balance in the morning when i'm not quite so tipsy!

What ever you do please get him out of your life. You will not be able to fix your debt problems with him hanging around dragging you down financially and mentally. We all need to be strong and stick together at times like this.

    Oh Kelie!

Eating toasted sandwiches at this time of the night is not good for you you know!

And I think you know what else isn't good for you as well!

When I think back to my bad experience 7 years ago the only thing that still hurts me to this day is how my family felt. They were affraid to step in and show their disapproval in case it pushed me further away from them. I couldn't reach out to them because I was scared of him and I didn't know they knew already. I was only allowed to see my mom every other week. Then one week, mom and my sister kidnapped me. They took me away and talked to me and everything was out in the open. Then, shocked, they took me to the Police Station. The man behind the counter gave me some leaflets. When I told him I couldn't take them for fear of the consequences if they were found he got a real Police Officer involved. Finally facing my fears and the reality of the situation gave me the confidence to dump my OH. D-Day was like a precision operation, covert phone calls made at work, Police informed (just in case), phone calls to be made at specific times and family on standby. Within half an hour of him leaving my locks were changed (at 11.30pm!) and mom and sis stayed the night with me in case he came back. My only regret is that I didn't do it sooner! My finances were so bad I was advised to declare myself bankrupt. I didn't. What's really sickening is that if I hadn't had those 14 months I would only have 6 years left to pay my mortgage with low payments instead of 17 years of considerably higher payments! Oh well! you live and learn.

Definitely time for bed now look at the time!!

Hope things work out better for you Kelie,

    All the best

Poo, can't not comment on your post. What an incredibly strong and brave person you are, and what a great mum and sister you have. Hats of to you for coming out the other side of an awful relationship.
