I have just had a nice chat with some men at an Indian call centre offering a Motorola C975 for £2.99 a month with 500 Minutes Free Per Month To Any UK Network Or Landline Plus 100 Free Texts Per Month.
They were very keen for me to sign up straight away but I managed to get their company name - Choose 3 - and said I would think about it.
They have a website https://www.choose3.co.uk and it all looks above board.
What is the hidden catch?

Only catch is its on three!!!
No really, Its a poor phone. Large brick quality. But if your just interested in the minutes then its fine, But you will have to pay the full price and claim the money back. I don't know of anyone who's had any dealings with this company, maybe someone else has and they can comment on how easy it is to get the cash back???0 -
No history or about us section on the website. No actual address to contact them on, only a PO box. I can't find any refferences to this company on the net, except for adverts.
This would make me very wary of doing a cashback deal with a company like this. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?

This is another one that doesn't look 100%. They are also offering a cashback deal. You should at least be confident about a company before entering into this sort of deal.
Here's what Ifound..........
On their website. They say that the website was launched in April 1999. Very strange, according to a whois lookup. This web address was created 7 Nov 2002. No address on the website. The whois contact email address for this company is a hotmail address.
I also found this...........Quote
From the beginning I had problems with this company (also called Directfone warehouse and Mobile Solutions amongst other names) I ordered an A835 phone with the 3 contract. I was informed twice by their staff incorrectly about the refund times for the half price contract and when the contract arrived it informed me that I would get my refund at the end of the 12 month period instead of 4 months as originally stated. We then settled on 6 months and then 12 months. It took weeks before I got my accessories from them. I purchased a Bluetooth headset at "special price" and was misinformed about the original retail price. When the time came to request my refund, faxes and emails were sent with read receipts and confirmations. A phone call also confirmed they had received my fax together with the bill. After several phone calls to ask why refund not received and being told "accounts are doing the cheque" and that "it had definitely been sent" I then took legal action. This is a company who decides which of its mail to open and which to return marked "not known at this address" and I was reliably informed of this as well by someone else. I received one of the legal documents back marked as such.
Next step was to order judgement against them and finally get the bailiffs to go in. Money finally received from them about 6 months after it was due.
Original website in 2004 stated address and time in business as being 10 years and in January 2005 no address or easy contact details and business commenced in 1997. It seems to vary as to the weather. Not a company that wants to be easily contactable.

Once again, I would be very wary of dealing with this company. How many surrealists does it take to change a lightbulb?
