Have used the card today for the second time at Frankie & Bennys & saved £17 off a 2 course meal plus they do not mark the card, again we are welcome to use the card there as often as we like. Ordered a toddler meal as well but they still used our 2 meals for the buy one get one free, they did not use the toddler meal as the cheapest for the offer. So full Marks to Frankie & Bennys.
Total savings on using the card twice has been £32. So one more use & we start saving money on dining out.0 -
I have a card and find it to be great value.
If you are not sure about trying it, you could sign up to the free trial for two months.
Just like when you take out magazine free trials, etc, you have to give your credit / debit card number, but if you return your card before the end of the two months, you pay nothing. Otherwise your card is charged with £39.95 for yorkshire membership, or £49.95 for north west membership.
This truely is free food, and you can find out which restaurants mark your card and which do not! (I have found that very few do).
To take advantage of this offer, apply as normal, and quote my card number which is 140570-1.
I get nothing for you taking out a trial, but if you decide to continue with membership, I get 10 'loyalty points' (probably not worth much) to redeem against gifts.
I took a trial before taking out full membership, and was so impressed with how much I saved that I chose to continue.

If your unsure why don't you try the free trial for 2 months.
I got the free trial through this link
https://www.madaboutbargains.co.uk
We then cancelled as we were moving house...
3 weeks later we got a letter offering 12 months for £19.99
We loved it for the 2 months and would definately recommend it through this method.
Matched betting profits £1281.72
Quidco Cashback £2730 -
I was looking for a discount for frankie and bennys as we eat there often but it seems that they have finished the deal with the card0

They don't include all F&B's snowball, particularly some off the ones at retail parks. Manchester City Centre and Salford Quays are in.
Had a card for 6 years now, don't hammer it but get value for money. Hardly any places where you can go on a Saturday, fair few on a Friday, world's yr oyster any other day.
Quite a few chains you can use it at Nationwide too.
I'd recommend it if you eat out regularly, particularly in the week.0 -

I would echo this! The same has happened to me and several family members - take out the free trial (the Yorkshire Evening Post also does them now and again) - refuse the offer to buy a 12 month membership for full price or £10 off - then a couple of weeks later you will get a letter with the £19.99 offer. I did mine about a week into one month so got nearly an extra month included for nowt!! I have only used this twice since February but have saved over £40 already. For the Yorkshire members living near Leeds i would highly recommend Thomas Danby College -top class food where you get a 3 course meal for about £13 - then when you use the card it's bogof!0 -
hi i have just been to mad about bargain, but i cant find the link. has anyone seen this offer somewhere else?0

If you look on Google there are loads of different links for the 2 months free trial. Try this one : hxxp://www.hi-life.co.uk/sugarvine/
I've used this before and have to agree they're great. Typically my favourite restaurant does cross themselves off the card, so I can only use it there once. But have found that most places don't.
Everyone has been a bit negative regarding availability when trying to book, and also Saturday nights. I've not had any problems at all. I've always quoted Hi Life when booking, and never been turned down. Some restaurants don't do Saturdays/Valentines/other special dates, but it doesn't seem that restrictive to me as plenty still DO do these days.
Just make sure before booking that you check in the Hi Life book (which they will send you when you join) what the rules are for your chosen restaurant - how many courses are covered, if you can use more than one Hi Life card in one sitting, etc etc.0 -
I had the hi-life card several years ago and I returned it after several months. I often found it difficult to find a restaurant in my area on a Friday or Saturday, as most restaurants / pubs did not honour the card on these days. Contrary to some of the above postings, my card was marked almost every time, which meant that I had to hop from one restaurant to the next. You also have to be careful not to order anything that is not a la carte, i.e. a sunday lunch, a meal of the day, or anything like that, as the card will not be valid for this. I also don't like phoning up and telling them that you are using the card, giving them the opportunity to refuse the "cheap offer" Even though hi-life want to market this as a "privilege card", it is, at the and of the day, a discount card.
Another awkwardness can crop up when it comes to paying. According to hi-life, the waitering staff already know that you have a card and they bring you the bill with the price already reduced. In reality, this was never the case. After they'd brought the bill, we gave them the card and then they reduced the bill. Some waiterering staff had never seen the card and first had to check with the manager. In the meantime, we sat at the table, hoping that everything would go alright. I've found that there are quite a few restaurants offering two-for-one main meals every now and then, making a discount card superfluous. Also I've found that restaurants are more willing to accept a voucher that's been issued by their own chain than a card that's been issued by a third party.0
