My new card has 899 very tiny squares on the back. They must have increased the amount of restaurants that take the offer.0

Hmmm - one restaurant in Edinburgh and 2 in Glasgow - completely useless for Scotland at all then0

I've had a card for a few years. I have to say it is excellent. Rarely has my card beEN marked by any of the restaurants. It truly does pay for itself after a few meals.0

North West card only. You can apply via their web site but I don't think you can get the discount. The web site states that you can apply for a Yorkshire card too at a special price of £39.95.

I have just ordered one over the phone & had to quote a 7086 reference no. off the leaflet I have as well as the further £20 off quote.
Hi, sounds brilliant, as i do not have a leaflet can you just confimr for me what I do have to quote, is it "Further £20 off Special offer", or is it "a 7086 reference no. " (what is that?!?)
Thanks,0 -

Thanks,
We have chosen todays restaurant & are going there for lunch. Hubby works shift patterns & often has a couple of days off in the week. we always go out on his days off for lunch. So we should recoup most of the outlay over the next 2 days.0 -
I joined up this week too. I have noticed they have a referral scheme - get £10 back if you refer a friend. I'd be willing to split this if anyone wants to join.
I have placed a post on the referrers board.

We used the card for the first time for lunch today at a lovely restaurant in Blackpool called the Outside Inn. They have a website if anyone wants to take a look. It really is outdoors inside with trees, waterfalls, bridges & houses. We had a starter & a main course each. We would have had a dessert as well but did not have the room. The food was excellent & so was the service. I would thouroughly recommend a visit there to anyone. We will certainly be paying them more visits.
They do not mark the card & will welcome you back as many times as you would like to go. We got £15.00 off the bill. that was one starter & one main free. Another £25 to go in discounts & we have recouped our outlay.
So a very sucessfull first time.0 -
hi, just a word of warning. my son worked in a restaurab#nt that accepted high life platinum cards... he says that the restaurant has the right to only accept each card on one occasion. eg if you order 2 main courses and a jug of water, the restaurant mey cross you off as having redeemed the card at that establishment and may not use it there again. in most cases however, if you play fair and have a bottle of wine with a meal this will not happen! Hi life customers in the restaurant he worked in were treated identically to all other customers but often the tables that they were seated at were not the best they had as the restaurant in some cases can loose money on hi life as the discount is given for free by the restaurant. The owner of the hi life card business lives near me in a million pound house near blackburn!0

I think it is called initiative and enterprise. It was a good idea and makes a lot of people happy. As for the wine, most people drive to restaurants these days and cannot drink. It presumeably, is totally up to the restaurant whether or not they participate in this scheme. I assume they do on the basis of return custom, which I know happens with my relatives - they have taken me on a return visit to a favourite restaurant (more than once) and paid full price and I in turn have recommended it to other diners. This is their return.
I think most people would not expect the best tables and are happy to 'trade' with a lesser table.
Overall, I think this scheme benefits everyone and I think the owner of the hi-life card deserves his million pound house. Wish it had been my idea.
ps ranorman45 - welcome to the board0
