Damn damn damn damn damn! Am having to refund more than half my ebay sales (most expensive item) as it broke when I was packing. Worse I had already initiated the transfer to my bank and it won't do a refund off my card so unless the linked bank credits come into my account tomorrow I will probably have to pay out the charges as well - so not only do I not get the profits on this but it eats into the rest of my profits.

Am not a happy bunny - just hope the buyer is understanding....
  • That is a real shame, is there any way to get it fixed?

Sadly not - it was a wine glass (one of a set) and the stem snapped - I think it must have had a weakness. There are 5 left so I may be able to salvage something perhaps selling a set of 4? Just very annoying.

Perhaps e mail the buyer and see of they will accept a partial refund, they may be happy with that.Good luck with it either way.

Oh bother this! Hmm as Bob says they may accept the rest and a small refund - worth a try!

They were very nice about it and I sent a refund - I will list again in a while a set of 4! Maybe sell the odd one at the car boot.... But a shame nonetheless. Have lost track a little in the last few days as have been up and down the country for work - and this weekend are busy throughout with in laws but will update properly when I get the chance.

Generally things going OK but OH dropped a bit of a bombshell that we owe a friend £600! Apparently there is a conference she needs to go to abroad, friend bought both tickets so they could fly together but not sure yet whether she'll get it back from work or whether we have to pay ourselves! So bang goes my overpayment this month. :( But at least we will not increase our debt - it just slows down the repayment.

They probably realised that things like this happen with glass ware - at least it didn't arrive broken then there are all sorts of problems!

Bit of a blow that, i often get little bombshells like that as well..but if it is a necessity then it has to be done. Can monies be claimed back as business expenses?

yes - certainly if we can't get it back from her work we can at least set it against tax for this year - but a bit of a blow nonetheless. That said she has been off doing loads of extra work to make extra money so it is fair enough that some of it goes on trips like this. Just had hoped to throw it all at the debts - and we won't be getting it anyway for a little while so in the meantime have to borrow from my overpayment pot.

In laws coming this weekend - any moment - so won't be on much. But have a private dog training client tomorrow so will make £50. :T Have a good MSE weekend folks.
