Shopping? DH wouldn't know how, he will sometimes pop into the supermarket on his way back from work etc for one item I may have forgotten but that's his limitOrganised people are just too lazy to look for things
F U Fund currently at £2500 -
I don't take my DH shopping. He likes ready peeled and prepared veg and ready made meals...very expensive. Not to mention the nibbles and alcohol we have...
Could you not shop on line and get it delivered and then you wouldn't have to have your OH there at all???0 -
brokenwings.........I have been buying hundreds of packets of loo rolls, they are packs of 4 kleenex"love your bum" toilet rolls, in my house every cupboard you open is stacked with loo rolls but they were a bargain at £1.67, they have a £1.00 coupon on them, wilkinson sword razor blades in tesco were £3.49 with a £3.00 coupon on them, joey coupons are still about worth £3.00 each,I used £25.00 in coupons the other day.0

I leave my husband in the lager isle, then go back for him at the end of my shopping, the temper tantrums from a 48 year old is very embarrasing ,but I usually manage to leave the supermarket without any LAGER.............0

It most definately is NOT a man thing! We menfolk also battle with non-mse partners (although Mrs MATH does try and is getting better but sometimes even after 12 years of 'training' she doesn't always get it) I refuse to enter supermarkets unless armed with my shopping list written alphabetically and in isle order and alone. I think this should be made law and guards should be on the door to prevent significant others/teenage hangers-on sneaking in with you. All non-mse kith 'n' kin (male or female) should be required to be chained to those hooks currently used by yapping dogs IMOLife's a beach! Take your shoes off and feel the sand between your toes.0

If we go shopping together, my DH amuses our son while I whizz round. He is 100% behind the money saving thing. Partly because it's enabling him to cut his hours at work to spend more time with us so he's seeing direct benefits for all of us. (He's only going to be doing 4 days a week, but working an extra hour each day.)
If anything it was always me who'd cave and phone him at work asking him to bring home chocolate, pringles etc. Now I'm on a diet, one of the rules is that he's not allowed to get shopping in so I can't pester him any more!
So I suppose that's another post for the guys then!May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Lol at MATH. My OH does the shopping and he rewrites my list in aisle order, (although he doesnt do it alphabetically) I always thought that this was because he cant just take a pen as I do and cross things off as this is not cool. :rotfl:
He hates shopping with me or the kids, he has to go alone. He prides himself on putting all things for cupboard under the sink in one bag, all bathroom things in another bag etc. He also always gets exactly what is on the list, doesnt come home with treats, and only buys BOGOFFs or special offers if we use them regularly. :T I always thought he was an excellent shopper until I started to do it myself.
I now do most of our shopping at Aldi. OH wont go to Aldi (its not convenient enough for him) and I've realized that most of the things that I still have to buy from Sainsburys are for him because he loves his branded items and refuses to change, or even try different brands. He also will not use coupons (too embarassing) or buy Sainsburys basics.
This week I sent him to Sainsburys (for the first time in 6 weeks) with a list with about twelve items on it. He came back with about twelve carriers full, he had bought 46 items and spent £48. He had bought things like, individual steak pies, pasta n sauce, rizazz rice (yuk, yuk, yuk) Words were spoken and I did threaten to dock his pocket money, as my shopping budget for the rest of the month is now seriously out of kilter. I dont know what came over him as he has never done this before, I can only assume he has been having junk food/food shopping withdrawals symptoms! :rotfl:0
