A few years ago we got ours from Whitebox :

They are very helpful and were the cheapest for the model we were afterThat's Numberwang!0 -
The only decent ones I saw, were the LG Washer Dryers. All the others appeared cheap and tacky.
Unfotunately, they are around £80 over your budget; http://uk.lge.com/prodmodeldetail.do?actType=search&page=1&modelCategoryId=060408&categoryId=060408&parentId=0604&modelCodeDisplay=WD12124RD&model=NOTHING
This one's around £460 delivered.0 -
Whatever U do, dont buy Hotpoint, my parents got a new one in January, so far its been replaced twice and the last one repaired once....In this trusted place U can erase
Every tear that ever rolled down your weary face
All the time U waste in that paper chase
Is time better spent in these arms of mine0 -
Agree with Newfunk....also most Hotpoints have the filter located in the pump so you have to get a plumber to clear it out unless you know how to disconnect the thing anf tinker about....."Life is like a game of cards. Well, the guy who used to fix my washer dryer told me NEVER buy a combined machine and quite frankly he was right. A separate dryer is much better, washer/dryers never dry the same and take forever to dry just a couple of shirts.
When mine packed up he told me to get a Bosch washer, nothing fancy, no fancy buttons on it and nothing faster than an 1000 to 1100 spin. I took his advise and I have had no trouble at all. (Apparently the best one is Miele)
The dryer I bought is a Crusader. I'm sure someone on here will know who makes them. It's great, does the job and no probs with it unless you don't let it go through the cool down cycle, if you don't , eventually the thermostat goes.
They weren't that expensive, best to shop around first though. Hope that helps!0 -
Which have the ZanZanussi ZWD1480W as a best buy - the cheapest I can find it is at currys at 390 - here
maybe you can get this down with discount codes etc.. there's a 10% off washing machines code somewhere..HLK

Absolutely correct. Washer dryers are a waste of time; well the dryer part is.
A washing machine is at its most efficient when full.
Try to dry a full load and it will take hours.
A dryer needs a smallish load(or a large drum) so the items can be 'tossed' about in warm air.0 -
I was told by an engineer never buy a washer/dryer because when the washing machine empties it always leaves some water in the drum,so the dryer has all this excess water to evaporate and that means it takes a very long time to dry your clothes and it uses more electricity.0

I would say if unless you desperately need a washer dryer then go for seperates.
We decided in the end to go for a higher spec washing machine that
had a fast spin...and so glad we did..
I would say DO NOT GO FOR Hotpoint/Indecit/Hoover the worst for reliability..
I researched the most reliable through all the which reports..
and it said that AEG/Bosch were the most reliable by a long way.
I got an AEG 1600 spin and so pleased with it.Had it 6 months now and 1600 spin makes the clothes so much quicker to dry.

Hi,
It has to be Bosch or Miele!
And the previous posts are 100% correct, do not get a combined washer dryer unless you really have to as they are not very efficient and break down more often!0
