I detest people who make stupid decisions to throw away boxes, receipts etc then when it comes back to bite them blame someone else
Actually, discarding receipts may be rational behaviour when it comes to something as minor as a £20 voucher, since the likelihood of failure of the card is tiny, and therefore the effort expended in keeping it outweighs the very tiny likelihood of a problem as a result.
And clearly somebody else is to blame, the retailer, for not activating the card.0 -
Consumer Direct were quick in response but agreed there is little I can do easily without the receipt. I think the matter lies in whether an unactivated gift card is actually "faulty". I think it's moot point as the purchase not fit for its designed use through no fault of my own. They agreed its a little confusing. I give up and will only now buy gift cards from the actual retailer (e.g Next, etc).0
