Are all trolls illiterate as well as sad & lonely with nothing better to do ?
If they had a mental age or IQ that you needed the fingers of more than one hand to count to, then they wouldn't be trolling.Free/impartial debt advice: National Debtline | StepChange Debt Charity | Find your local CAB

An amoeba has a larger brain cell than the troll. I notice that he (am assuming that it is an he or should it be referred to as an IT?) makes lots of presumptions about people.
Poor little troll be thankful that your mummy loves you, now kindly go and play on the motorway like a good little troll...go on...shoo!0 -
Well guys i have to say i feel inordiantely sad.
No ok, a sticky maybe isn't the way to go, but we need a warning of some sort.
How many new posters will be scared off by behaviour of these people?
How long will it take for a comment such as "i've got a noose if you want to borrow it" the one that personally reduced me to tears, to find a person so vulnerable that it puts that thought into their head.
Please MSE people, put something somewhere, be it a warning, an explaination, an anything. just help people to realise that this is not what we are like here and we will support and help anyone who asks.debt @05/11/11 £12210.63!! slowly chipping away!!:heart2:impossible is nothing.:heart2:0 -

I agree with pania. I'm relatively new on here and it took me a while to pluck up the courage to post as I didn't want to get abuse. I was depressed and low enough at the time and I felt suicidal.
I'm glad I did take the plunge as I feel much more positive now but the trolls certainly put me off. Even as a "lurker" for a while, I read many of the troll posts and to be honest it upset me that stopped reading the forum for a while. Sometimes it is hard to ignore the comments when you are feeling vulnerable and there are people out there, like me, who take things personally.
The people on here are wonderful and I just hope that the newbies and lurkers take the plunge like I did, I don't regret it now.Debt 30k in 2008.:o Cleared all my debt in 2013 and loving being debt free

Know what you mean about not wanting to say anything,I lurked for a bit before I wrote anything, but the noobs who leave are the ones who get a troll replying to them first instead of a genuine member
It's true that you cant ignore the comments when you are feeling bad enough about yourself anyway, but if you can manage to look past them to the real advice (and maybe read the sticky stuff first) everything works alright in the end
